Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the total number of art prints to keep in a single 3 inch deep archival box?

A: Fine art printing papers vary considerably in thickness. Here's an example of how to figure out how many will fit of any given thickness. Find out the thickness of your paper expressed in mils. A mil is 1/1000 of an inch. As an example, Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright WhitePaper 310GSM, is 19.6 mils thick. 1000 divided by 19.6 = 51. So 51 sheets would be 1" thick. If you fill the Lineco box right to the top you'll get 153 prints in it. Now that's the theoretical maximum. You have to assume that you're not PRESSING these prints in, so they'll take up a little more space. You might have the prints in sleeves for protection. you might be using inter leafing tissue. Anything that increases the actual space taken up by each print reduces your count.

Q: 2. can this be stored in an outdoor shed?

A: This is not weather proof or resistant so it is not recommended to store in an outdoor shed.

Q: 3. Do the Archival Methods 8.75 x 11.1" Crystal Clear Bags fit in this box?

A: Yes, they will fit.

Q: 4. Is this acid and lingin free?

A: Yes, the Archival Methods Short Top Box (5.5x11.75x6'') is made from acid- and lignin-free ArchivalGrade™ boxboard.

Q: 5. Can this box be used for a book?

A: Yes it could be used for the following. But the unit is designed for Photos, Digital Prints, and Flat Art.

Q: 6. Are the given dimensions of the Lineco Museum Boxes measured on the inside or outside? I have prints with a size of 11.4x13. Will they fit in the 11.515 box?

A: I have the similar box from Lineco, but with dimensions 8.5 x 10.5 x 3 . According to my measurements, these are the interior dimensions. If Lineco measures the 11.5x15 boxes the same way, your items should fit. Unfortunately, I do not have the 11.5x15 box.

Q: 7. Will this box hold the Print File brand SB1122 Slide Storage Boxes?

A: Yes, according to the dimension comparison, the slide boxes will fit in the Lineco box.

Q: 8. Just to verify, these 8.5 x 10.5 x 3" Archival Storage Boxes are $16.80 per single box, correct?

A: This is for a single box at the posted price.

Q: 9. Will the larger boxes store framed artwork?

A: Yes, framed artwork can be stored in the Print File 20.5 x 24.5 x 1.5" Drop-Front Metal Edge Archival Storage Box (Black) or larger as long as they are within the prior thickness.

Q: 10. How many photos do these typically hold?

A: The number of photos the storage box holds depends on the thickness of the paper the photos are printed on and whether or not the photos are in sleeves.

[3.5 lb] There isn't anything spectacular about this archival storage boxes; they're just simple, straight to the point archival storage boxes. Good product, especially for the price. I'll buy them again.

[Yes] Boxes that appear similar to the old Light Impression boxes from back in the 20th century--only problem I had with my order is that my 8.5 x 11 prints don't fit--because I ordered the wrong size--my bad--but I'm keeping these boxes--I'm sure I'll fill them with something

[Removable Lid] It was so hard to find an archival box for 17x25 inch photos. But I found this one at B&H. When you need an unusual size or item you can always count on B&H.
