Historically renowned as the first boutique guitar amplifiers, Mesa/Boogie changed the face of music with their rectifier design. This amp is not just known for a single sound character but rather delivers a wide range of tones—from rounded jazzy cleans, warm crunch, biting overdrive and thick high-gain distortion. What was interesting about the rectifier series was how players of heavy music such as Tool, Soundgarden, Incubus, HIM, Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, System of A Down, and countless others adopted the Boogie tone. It's probably safe to say that Mesa/Boogie had a big contribution to the evolution of the music scene since the release of the Dual and Triple Rectifier in the early '90s.

Kuassa developed and carefully modeled the rectification design to present its sound and performance to your desktop as the Amplifikation Rectifor. They also improve the entire user interface to bring maximum experience for users.

To make the process of dialing in the perfect tone easier than ever, Kuassa includes an intuitive graphical interface that allows for freely adjustable dual-miking with mono or stereo configurations, just like a real-life guitar recording session, with a mix option. Nine types of workhorse mics are available for precise placement including:

  • Shure SM57
  • Sennheiser MD421
  • Sennheiser MD441
  • Shure KSM 353
  • Royer 121
  • AKG C414
  • Neumann TLM103
  • Sennheiser E609
  • Beyerdynamic M 201

The Amplifikation Rectifor is presented in numerous formats for maximum versatility. As a plug-in for your favorite DAW, the software is available in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and Reason Rack Extension on either Windows (7 or later) or macOS (OSX 10.11 or later). It can also be used with Kuassa's own Amplifikation 360 program, a modular "playground" for stacking pedals, amps, and cabs as modules to create the perfect sound. Finally, the Rectifor can simply be used as a standalone program, without any need to rely on secondary software.

[Yes] Because of the pandemic, I have not been able to go to the music store to listen to and purchase studio monitors. I have been doing all of my music editing using Sennheiser HD 289 Pro headphones. This Blue Cat Audio software/VST has been very useful in helping me better understand what is going on in my recording.

[Yes] What's that on your organ? That's the question I get when musician and regular folk see the CabGrabber on the Leslie Cabinet of our organ. I guess it looks weird and they probably never seen the cabinet mic'd that way. Heard the pastor commenting about how nice the organ sounded....had to shake my head and smile because I knew it was due to how I mic'd the organ with these 2 days before. Easy to put attached and remove. Make sure to get the same brand Boom CG when ordering.

[Download] Gear: Agile 3010 SE, 1950's wiring, Seymour Duncan Antiquities, CTS 500K pots Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Pretty nifty thing. I made mine into a really compact set up with a 3 ft cable going from my headphones into the amPLug G2. Works really well with clear channels. The effects are fun to play with.

[Yes] I honestly don't think there is a better option on the market, everything is perfect, the sound, the spects the price, THE SIZE!! , everything, The unit fits like a glove inside my gigbag and the pedal layering is so well and smart designed that you actually don't miss not having more buttons . It took me like 20 minutes or less to build my first patch and then the second day I made the whole rig setup for my live gigs, witch I took to a few days later. Everything was perfect, just some minor twiks here and there, but I felt that it's been with me for years. The MX5 will kill everything on the market in this price range, even higher. In fact because of the stereo FX send and the expression pedal, even the Gigboard is in danger. Well done Headrush, very well done.

[Yes] The AC30 is great for practicing when others want to sleep. It's very compact and fits in the accessories compartment in my guitar case. Tone is good (not great), and certainly acceptable for practicing. Given its small size, I don't think anyone can expect killer tone. I find the effects (Chorus, Delay, Reverb) a bit cheesy and don't use them. The volume is sufficient with headphones. I've used it with Sennheiser Momentums (18 ohm) and AKG K240 MkII (55 ohm). I've also tried it with a JBL Charge. I had to crank the Charge to full volume for the sound to fill a small room. But hey ... that makes for a very portable amp solution.

[Yes] My son has been playing his electric guitar for about two years.  Usually its plugged into his regular amp, which is loud.  But there are times when we cant have the noise in the house, either due to homework, a phone call, or someone watching television or a movie in the other room.  The VOX amPlug has solved the problem.  He can play with the amPlug plugged into the guitar, and hooked up to his headphones.  He hears the electric sound of the guitar through his headphones, while the only sound audible to the rest of us is the strumming of the strings, which is not loud enough to disturb the quiet activities going on.  As far as the sound quality, I asked my son how he liked it after a couple of weeks of using it.  He replied that it sounds good to him.  (And the silence sounds good to me!)

[1 User] Sounds great. Compact (doesn't take up much desk space.). Easy to program. I use set-lists and scenes as a work-around for lack of snapshots. Compared to my Helix LT - much less expensive; much smaller and less heavy; BUT no snapshots; no programming with computer connection (HxEdit); takes a bit of effort to type on keyboard screen due to size. I like it.

[Yes] This thing rocks out on earbuds, portable speakers, and a 4x12 cab. It's very boomy on an amps so the tone needs adjusting. Careful with the volume hooked to an amp as well, a little is a lot. The aux in audio is so useful for playing along with songs or a metronome with the volume being independent for fine tuning what you want to hear more of. I would recommend this, it sounds just as good as an amp modeler fro what it does.
