KITE OPTICS 10x30 APC Stabilized Binocularsbring you the latest technology in binocular image stabilization—correcting image stability by 3° for perfectly stable images, not only from a trembling hand, but even from a driving car or a boat in strong seas. This compact, lightweight instrument is powered by two AA batteries, the most common battery size worldwide, with runtime of up to 36 hours. It is ergonomically shaped and features a 1.6" long focus wheel that can be easily operated with 3 fingers.

The APC (angle power control) function detects positioning. When the instrument comes into vertical position, hanging from your neck or standing on a surface, it goes to sleep. From the second it comes to a more horizontal position, when viewing, the stabilization kicks in. No switching of buttons, no accidental battery drain. A timer function makes sure it switches off completely after 90 minutes, no matter the position, and a low battery indicator will warn you when new batteries are needed.

[2x AA] I work in Airborne Law Enforcement. I have used numerous brands and styles of stabilized binoculars in my career each with their own benefits and compromises. These are hands down the best I have used. Zero compromise with these. The clarity in both high and low light conditions is incredible. The stabilizing is also incredible. After being passed around our unit, we all agree these will be the new standard binoculars for our unit. If you're on the fence about them, you will not regret your purchase or the price. The fact they have a replaceable silicon housing is also an awesome feature.

[8.8 x 7.5 x 4"] I bought these Version II 10x30 IS binos to replace my first ones, which I'd used extensively for birding, stargazing, sports and performance watching, replacing 7x50, 7x35 & 8x40 binos, bulky, medium and lightweights, respectively. My first Japanese made ones were great, though the battery compartment latch had failed. They disappeared on a camping trip a year ago despite being labeled, and after a year I Emailed theCanon repair facility with the serial# and my label info and they never responded, and I just got my new pair of the new Taiwan made Model IIs.
The build quality, optics and battery latch are all as good or better than the originals, and once you focus on a subject, the change in the image quality is eerily magical - it brings the subject closer with dimension, color, detail and texture as if you're twice as close.
As long as you're in focus with a good soft grip snd stance and can track it smoothly, even flying wings or moving leaves or faces stay sharp.
AND, you CAN activate the IS system, focus and track at the same time!

[30 mm] terrific as an opera glass and as a star-gazing binoular

[10x] The Canon 10x30 IS II combines excellent optics with convenient handling and reasonably light weight. The image stabilization works well, although I wish the actuation button were a locking toggle rather than a momentary push-to-actuate. I use these binocs for both terrestrial observing and night-time sky watching. The size minimizes fatigue over long sessions. I bought these binocs to replace a predecessor product, the original Canon 10x30 IS, which I owned for 20+ years; which saw all sorts of service, including several years at sea; and in which the stabilization system finally failed. If these new binocs are as good as the original, I expect to be enjoying them for a long time to come.

[Center] This is my second pair of 10x30s. I’ve traveled with them around the world several times. Dozens of countries. Light weight. Needed another pair so I can share the experience. Tired of asking for them back. I truly love these binos.

[3 mm] I have owned several different models of the Canon IS binoculars over the last 15 years or so. Apart from the too-short eye relief on the 18x50 models (I wear glasses for astigmatism), I've loved them all. No service problems whatsoever. I have also not had any problem with the sticky coating issue others have described, but I do know from dealing with binos and astronomy equipment on buggy summer nights that some insect repellants can dissolve rubber - perhaps that might be a culprit?

I also once owned a pair of non-stabilized Leica binoculars - IMO, the image stabilization feature has far more impact on the viewing experience than having the higher-end optics.

[3 mm] I’ve been using Canon 10x30 image stabilized binoculars for over 20 years now. They are simply the best. I’ve tried other people’s more expensive units without IS, and I always want my IS unit back. I don’t see the point in more expensive lenses, if they’re “jittery”.

[3 mm] Got this for casual use at our mountain cabin. Optics are gorgeous compared to other binoculars I've used and tried, and the image stabilization makes a huge difference. The only minor inconvenience is having to hold down the stabilization button. Would be nicer if you tapped it on and then it automatically turned off after X minutes if the binoculars hadn't moved. But otherwise LOVE IT!
