The NiSi V7 Alpha 100mm Aluminum Filter Holderfrom NiSi V7 Alpha 100mm Aluminum Filter Holderis designed to use up to three 100mm wide filters with a thickness of 2mm. It includes an 82mm adapter ring to allow the holder to connect to any 82mm standard filter thread lens. This holder can be combined with NiSi's separately available V7 adapter rings to allow the use of standard filter thread sizes ranging from 49 to 77mm. The included 82mm adapter ring is also compatible with the V6 adapter rings from 49 to 77mm.

Additionally, this holder features a left-to-right pressed clip design that allows filters to be smoothly inserted and removed. The holder can rotate 360° to allow graduated neutral density filters to be rotated for perfect placement with a horizon and light source. Made from aviation-grade aluminum, this V7 Alpha filter holder offers a locking system for fixing the filter position and avoids vignetting on the ultrawide-angle lens even at 16mm on a full-frame camera.

A: Unfortunately, this holder is only compatible with Nisi brand adapter rings.

A: No, the 82mm adapter ring is for a lens not the V5 polarizing filter.

Q: 7. Can you use the CPL from the Nisi v5 pro kit with the newer v7 filter holder?

A: No, the older CPL for the V5 holder does not fit the new V7 holder.

A: No, unfortunately there are no adapters that would properly function with the NiSi V7 100mm Filter Holder Kit with True Color NC Circular Polarizer and Lens Cap with any off-brand filters, other than NiSi, as they are proprietary to this holder.

[Aluminum] First impressions are fantastic... I haven't actually used this yet, but the build quality and ease of use is amazing. The fact that it came with rings included made this an even better buy. I can even use my 100mm filters from another manufacturer with this system. I'd likely rate it a 5, but this rating is based solely on the product build, ease of use and supplied rings. 5

[Aluminum] I use only Nisi filters and two years ago went from the v5 to the v7 setup. My only complaint is with the v7 make sure that the polarizer is turned so it doesn’t wiggle out. When screwing the filter assembly on and off it the polarizer is not tight it can pop out. I have chipped two of these that way now. They still work as it’s a small chip but causes flare if light hits just right. If you go with the V7 buy the plastic lens cover that clicks on over the polarizer. It works great and I leave it on all the time now when not in use. Pretty much always attached to my 14-35 lens unless need for another. 5

[Aluminum] I had to replace the polarizer which came with my NiSi kit and wow, this one is amazing. The ant-reflection coating on it is amazing, got some gorgeous waterfall shots with it. There was a ton of mist and despite having to wipe the filters off a LOT, I was concerned I would still have spots on my shots. To my surprise, the shot were crystal clear!! Love this polatizwe!! 5

[Aluminum] This hold two filters that can be rotated separately. My typical use case is to put a Grad ND next to the lens and a circular polarizer in the outside slot. This allows me to adjust the Grad ND first and then rotate the polarizer to darken the sky. 5

[82 mm] I've become a fan of NiSi filters and the NiSi filter system. �These are great filters and very reasonably priced. �I use the ND filters for taking pictures of waterfalls and am starting to experiment with the graduated filters for sunsets. �I bought the system through another outlet, before BH started stocking them. �The system is great with one caveat -- it's easy to lose the the polarizing filter -- hence the need to purchase a replacement :) I tend to leave the polarizing filter on my camera most of the time, attaching the rest of the system as needed. �Unfortunately, the polarizing filter has a tendency to come off while walking about. �This happened the first time I used the filter. �Luckily a passing stranger noticed and let me know what happened. �I managed to be careful for quite a while, but eventually lost the filter (luckily this happened just after I finished shooting for the week). 5

[Aluminum] I really like this holder. It is much easier to use than the holder I had been using for a few years from a different company. Some of the highlights - the holder is very easy and quick to attach to the lens - getting the polarizing filter on and off is quick and easy, it is also very easy to 'spin' the filter - even in cold weather with gloves - having a cover is very nice 5
