So far I am extremely happy with this light. It is far brighter than my Westcott Skylux (also with a Bowen mount) and even my Arri 200W PAR HMIs. It's self-contained and the dimming and kelvin adjustments are smooth and concise but placed in an awkward spot. Not a deal-killer in any way though. In fact, my only disappointment was in the purchasing of the light using the new Payboo account which is a complete disaster. But the light rocks!

Great extension, Manfrotto comes thru again

I've now been using this light regularly for the last 5 months and can confidently say it's paying itself off.



Few things of note...


- Built quality is holding and I'm happy with how its working. The most minor complaint is that it can be a tight fit to get the lamphead onto the Yoke but it does give me confidence that it's not going to come lose.

- The Carry case that is made of hardened plastic covered with fabric is working great. I've rented this light a few times and haven't developed any tears. Years of use may prove me wrong but it's still in good shape.
- Phone app: I know many people won't believe me but I've been quite happy with the Nanlite app and using it on set. I own 8 different Nanlite fixtures and having everything working on a single phone app is really helpful.
- Output: As for the usefulness of this fixture in Studio and on set environments... I use this in combination with x2 720b's, x2 500's, and a few other smaller lights and this holds its place with being able to fill any space I need to light and very often being set outside a window to fill up an interior daytime scene. It's got enough punch that I'm able fill a 8x8 with Magic Cloth and have enough output for the camera.

I have a Manfrotto stands which fits this extension pole perfectly, and it's a dream - once I screw the base in, it's quite stable, and it doesn't add too much weight to my stand-bag. Very handy when recording orchestras!

I use this for holding my Paul C Buff light and softbox when shooting outdoors. The pole is solid and does not bend when the light and softbox are attached. It also extends fairly high giving me more lighting options.

Great sturdy product

The extension works perfectly. I do wish it was air-cushioned like the stand I put it on, but it functions exactly as advertised, the screws hold tight, and brings my 12' stand up to over 20'. No complaints.
