Get professional sounding instrument recordings without breaking the bank using the silver STC-1 from Sontronics. Designed in Britain, this flexible small-diaphragm condenser microphone can be used on a wide variety of instruments and has been engineered to deliver sonic results rivaling far more expensive pencil mics. Well suited to recording acoustic guitars and other strummed instruments, the STC-1 can also be employed to capture strings, woodwinds, percussion, and brass. Adding a second mic (available separately) gives you a stereo tool kit ready to capture pianos, drum overheads, choirs, ensembles and more.

The mic features a 3-stage high-pass filter (Off / 75 Hz / 150 Hz), allowing you to reduce unwanted low-end, while a 3-stage pad (Off / -10 dB / -20 dB) lets you record loud sources at up to 137 dB. A mic clip, foam windshield, and wooden box for transport and storage are included.

A: Yes, the CAD M179 Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone comes with a plastic carrying case.

Q: 2. Hello, would this fit on a Neumann 89i respectively over a Neumann WS89?

A: This windscreen is designed to fit over the Rycote 45/100, which is a foam shield for 2.17" diameter mics. Since the Neumann U89i is 1.8" in diameter, this windscreen will be too large for the WS89.

Q: 3. can i buy a windscreen for this mic?

A: BH #AUWCFUB440 would be a suitable windscreen for the Shure PGA27 Large-Diaphragm Side-Address Condenser Microphone.

Q: 4. Hello, would this fit a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure microphone?

A: The Rycote Windjammer for 45/100 Foam for Large Diaphragm Condenser may fit on the Lewitt LCT 440 Pure, but we are not able to test it on the mic to be able to confirm this since the Windjammer is only available by special order (we don't have it in stock). The Windjammer is designed to fit over the Rycote 45/100 Large Diaphragm Mic Foam (B&H # RYLDM4510001).

Q: 5. Can I use the Rode NT5 (matched pair) for choir recording? Thank you.

A: Yes, that is what I am using them for. They sound great even from a distance of 20 feet. This is quite remarkable considering our choir does not face the microphones, but rather face each other. Our choir is located in the back of the church in a balcony. I mounted them on the side pillars and angled them towards the choir.

Q: 9. Does it say Polsen on the pop filter or is that just in the photo?

A: Yes, there is a "Polsen" logo on the pop filter of the Polsen RM-650 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone.

Q: 10. Can I connect these directly to my Zoom F3 ( since the NT5 has Male 3 Pin XLR) or do I need an XLR connector?

A: Although the Rode NT5 Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphones have XLR male connections onboard, their form factor would not allow them to be connected directly to the inputs on the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder. The NT5 should make connection to the F3's inputs via standard 3-Pin XLR cable.

[Cardioid] I am very happy with these microphones. Use them with an upright piano facing the soundboard on the low and high side. Excellent pickup and clarity. Have also used the pair at wedding, positioned on mic stand (40in), to pick up the pastor, bride and groom. The guests clearly heard every word and the pastor was impressed with the pickup. Also makes great audience (ambient) mics for recording church services. Worth every penny.

[Cardioid] IMHO, a great investment. Our house of worship needed hypercardioid mics for the choir to elimiate audio bleed from the musicians. We were able to boost gain without feedback and the voices came through loud and clear. We've used a numer of cardioid mics in the past but needed something to really narrow the focus of the voices. The AKG C 1000 S was the ticket!

[Phantom Power] I have always been a big fan of the AKG small capsule condenser microphones. Sounds amazing for drum overheads or acoustic guitar placed near the nut.

[Phantom Power] The 451B/ST may cost a bit more but they are worth the sound they capture. I use the 451's for mobile and studio work, recording various instruments & vocals. 1) Silky, Smooth Sound to melt for. 2) Little to no Eq needed (Fantastic!!!). 3) Sounds great on many instruments. 4) Makes mixing time pleasant (I love it!). 5) Leaves me more time to create. Besides the silky highs, these little microphones Pick up very impresive smooth low frequencies; which is what I was looking for in a small diaphram mic set. Another mic company offers a match pair set (which are great and are an awesome value) but, are just shy from having the 451 sound. The 451B/ST microphones makes recording easier and more enjoyable. You would have to hear other small diaphram microphones to appreciate the sound of the 451's.

[Cardioid] Huge value - great smooth sound- couldn't be happier for an indoor use mic. Works well outside when needing an secondary boom.

[Silver] Rode and online reviews recommend the NT5 over the NT3 for indoor dialogue, so I bought a matched pair to use with my Tascam 70D and DR40, and they perform as well since I hear no difference, but they are much smaller and lighter on a boom pole, use phantom power only, no on/off switch to forget, plus the XLR cable locks into them, which my NT3 did not.
