I use the Watson D-Tap Dummy Battery with our Sony FX3 and a7siii and it makes longer shoot days a breeze.

On days when we are doing nonstop interviews, this adapter shines. I can usually get through the day with one v-mount battery vs 3-4 OG batteries. It is a time saver on set for sure. I've used it on 2-3 shoots thus far and I haven't had any issues.


I can see this being amazing once I get one of those block cage rigs for the fx3. Overall, I'm impressed.

Works perfectly for our needs. We use our Sony Zve10 to record our church services. The included battery works fine for regular services, but we needed something for longer services, like funerals, and the Bescor dummy battery works flawless for longer recordings

This is a great way to run a camera off a v-mount battery or any other battery with a d-tap out. It is working flawlessly. It's perfect for long shoots or when the camera needs to run for a long time without the need to change batteries. It is also great for table-tops, match cut shots, stop motion animation shoots or any situation where you can't move the camera or it is difficult to change batteries, like when on a jib. The larger batteries with a d-tap last much, much longer than the NP-FZ100 camera batteries. One v-mount battery lasts all day with my Sony A73. I love that. And if you put your camera on rods, they make mounts for v-mount batteries, so this could used for a great run and gun set-up. Perfect for long days of shooting or to impress a client with your cool, bigger camera rig. The Sony A73 has a little notch on the battery door to pass the cable thru for this dummy battery. It was very easy to install. The build quality of this dummy battery is also very impressive. The coiled cable is a great length that stretches out to 24, but coils up nice and neat when you do not need the entire length. This dummy battery also comes with a built-In voltage regulator to protect everything, which is great. Another added benefit to this dummy battery adapter is even if you are using the regular camera batteries, having this in your kit is a great emergency back-up for power. I have a Sony A7IV and had a A7III before that so I have had a few different types of aftermarket brands to supplement the extra Sony batteries for this camera. I really like these the best so far. I would recommend them based on what I have seen. The big question with the aftermarket batteries for me has been how long they live. The Sony batteries have been better let's hope these work out. Give them a try!

These batteries are good value for money. Very reliable. If you are getting up to 90% performance like the brand batteries for a much less price why not use these.
