Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this flop over if you put a Shure 55SH Series II on it?

A: It will depend on the position of the arm and microphone, and how they are angled. The On-Stage DS8100 Desktop Rocker-Lug Mic Stand has weighs 3 lb. and has a 6" round base. The arm will tilt up to 40 degrees. The Shure 55SH weighs about 1.37 lb. and the stand can support the weight of the mic. I would recommend using a sandbag if you want to add additional weight onto the base for security to keep the stand from moving or prevent it from accidentally tipping if it is bumped.

Q: 2. What is the thread size at the base? I have four bases with this thread size, but most shafts are M20. This is larger than M20.

A: The manufacturer has not specified the size of the On-Stage DS7200B base threads.

Q: 3. Does it come with a mic

A: The Auray RFDT-128 is the reflection filter and stand only. No mic included.

Q: 4. Will the Shure SM7B work with the Auray RFDT-128 Desktop Reflection Filter and Mic Stand?

A: Yes, you can use the SM7B with this mic stand.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with the Rode Podmic?

A: Yes, the On-Stage DS7200B Adjustable Height Desktop Mic Stand is compatible for use with the Rode PodMic Dynamic Podcasting Microphone.

Q: 6. Will this stand work with Telefunken M82? I need a table stand for it.

A: Yes, the RODE DS1 Microphone Desktop Stand will work with the Telefunken M82 Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone.

Q: 7. Can I use it with my blue yeti?

A: Yes. This Auray RFDT-128 Desktop Reflection Filter and Mic Stand BH #AURFDT128 will work with a BLUE Yeti USb microphone.

Q: 8. Can this be used with the Aston Microphones Element Mic?

A: Yes, the Aston Microphones Element mic can be used with the Auray stand. The Auray stand has a standard 5/8"-27 threaded mount which accepts most microphone clips and shockmounts, and its sliding bracket allows you to position the mic inside the reflection filter. The Element mic and its shockmount will fit on the stand and inside the reflection filter.

Q: 9. What is the weight capacity when configured at 90 degrees?

A: The Glide Gear Multi-Mount Home Studio Desktop Video Stand Holder Rig has a weight capacity of 4lbs at a 90°.

Q: 10. What make is the adjustable grip at the top of the stand or the whole stand kit? Any idea where it is on this site?

A: This mic holder can attach to any mic stand with a 5/8-inch threaded top, or other stands with 3/8-inch threaded male connectors.

[Articulated] I ordered this to attach a boom arm and mic my bass drum. Its way too small and light for that without adding a lot more weight to the stand. Its also a little too small and light to hold a large diaphragm condenser mic in a suspension mount without a boom if it's pointing straight or angled forward at all.
It is great for use as a desktop mic stand even with a large diaphragm mic in suspension mount though because it will be angled back some and it balances nicely.
This should also work nicely to mount my iPhone while I'm playing guitar along to an app or music etc.
I'll be ordering a heavier/larger base for bass drum miking.

[Clamp Mechanism] I purchased two of these Atlas desk stands recently for a less than noble reason: I'm rotating some of my mic's out of the mic locker to put them on display for a week or two at a time at my remodeled studio. Just for a little visual aesthetics and eye candy for clients to take in. The DS-5E is a very simple but effective desk stand. If you're remotely concerned it won't be high enough (fixed 5 height), then take a look at the Atlas DS-7E (adjustable 8 to 13 height) instead. I remember playing in garage bands back in the 60's and all we had were Atlas mic stands. Atlas has always made a quality product you can rely on. Some things never change.

[Articulated] The hallmark of a good company is how well it makes the simple things. The humble table stand is one such example. Many stands have too light a base, not this one. The thread is machined correctly, so the stud screws in/out without binding, and the black color of the pipe is downright elegant. A basic good tool, built correctly out of good materials; that's why Atlas has the good reputation it has. You need a table stand, get this one.

[Aluminum] When it comes to the simple, humble tools, it speaks volumes about a company how they make them. There are plenty of table stands like this one, but Atlas makes them a bit better, a bit more polished (particularly the base), a nicer black pipe...it all adds up to a good-looking, quality stand that sits easily on a coffee table if needed, without being intrusive. It holds my AKG 414 XLS with shock mount; it holds my small condensers, my short shotgun...
It is simple, good quality, nice looking and reasonably priced from a company that has done stands for decades. You need a table stand, go with this.

[Articulated] I do boradcasting online and needed good desk mic stand. I was hesitant to buy this product, because Shure SM7B is very heavy mic. It turns out that this Stand can hold SM7B just fine.

[Black] I bought this used I think, like I do 90% of my gear. I found this to be perfectly suited to my needs. I have no SUPER-heavy mics, but this certainly seems capable of holding any mic you have, and if you HAVE a super-heavy mic, then you likely also tried to find a super heavy stand for it. This will do for 80% of your needs, it is cheap and it works.

[Desktop Stand] There is not much to say about this. It's a microphone desk stand. This one is nicely made and should last a lifetime.
