Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this mic have phantom power sensing? Can I plug it into a deck with active phantom power (via XLR)?

A: This is a dynamic microphone which does not require phantom power to operate. Plugging it into a mixer, speaker or other device that has phantom power engaged will neither enhance its performance nor damage it.

Q: 2. can i use this for podcast or youtube stream? what is your best mic for that?

A: The Sennheiser e 609 Microphone is designed for capturing audio from instruments and speaker cabinets. It could be used for voice, but we have many other microphones available that are better suited for voice. To best assist you in finding the best option for your application, please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we will be happy to help you.

Q: 3. Is the microphone casing plastic or metal?

A: The casing for the handle on the Sennheiser SKM-835-XSW-A Handheld Transmitter is made of plastic.

Q: 4. does this require phantom power?

A: No, the Shure SV100-WA Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with Accessories does not require phantom power for operation.

Q: 5. Are these rack mountable?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 1-825 is not rack mountable. Except if you use a shelf.

Q: 6. Is the blue cable included? This set contains set BH#SEWXSPLSTR?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser XSW-D Portable Lav Mobile Kit with Transmitter, Receiver, Lapel Mic, Mounts & Manfrotto PIXI Tabletop Stand does include the blue cable. There are two cables included with this kit. One is a locking 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS coiled cable, and the other is a locking 3.5mm TRS to 3,5mm TRRS coiled cable.

Q: 7. When we tested this mic back in 2015, we felt that it exhibited too much popping -- too sensitive to wind/plosives. We didn't want to use a foam windscreen, which would have negated much of its otherwise beautiful sound. Has this been corrected at all?

A: Over the recent years Sennheiser has improved upon their internal pop filters in e-series microphones, but as to how much more effective it is now versus five years ago would be difficult to say. Of course it is always best to try out a microphone before you purchase one, but that is not always an option, so I would encourage you to give us a call at 800-606-6969 and speak with a Pro Audio specialist who give you solid advise as to which mics to consider for your needs.

Q: 8. is this 110-240v?

A: The power supply of the receiver is 110-240v.

Q: 9. How many of these units can be used in tandem? I need at least three (six total mics).

A: The Sennheiser XSW 1-835 Dual-Vocal Set with Two 835 Handheld Microphones allows for up to 10 coordinated, operational frequencies. In theory, up to 5 sets (10 microphone channels) could be used at one.

Q: 10. How is the isovox setup in the store? (I believe its attached to a cabinet of somekind)?

A: The ISOVOX2 is setup in our headphone area, on a pole which is mounted to the top of a cabinet rack.

[1.3 lb] The SR117 was marketed on its strength at rejecting plosives. ...It's not great at it, at best it's as good as a standard stage dynamic. SO there's no special sauce. However, you might be able to mitigate with aggressive use of a low cut. However, beyond that, I really like this mic because it is very much a blank canvas, it can take EQ extremely well and can give you some of that studio mic tone in a handheld.

[Supercardioid] I own several mics from A-Z you name it I got it ! But there's something special about the Nd 96 that I use for my band . The vocals sounds very clear and my lead singer loves it . As always B&H is a great place to buy from and fast delivery.

[Supercardioid] For over a decade I used a Shure SM58 for live performances. While it worked well for singing, audiences would have trouble understanding me when I was just talking in between songs. The E945 provides an added clarity that really highlights nuance when singing and everyone in the venue can now understand me when I talk between songs. It's a very good microphone for live shows.

[Black] Bought this mic to replace my aged Shure SM48s. It sounds better than the Shure, with more details in the mid and more open in the high. The switch is truly silent. Love it.
Shure does a little better on handling noise isolation.

[Solid-State] These sound great and are very rejective to feedback. Much more powerful than our old EV ND757's. We purchased 6 of them.
