Q: 1. Sir can you ship to Saudi Arabia

A: Yes, we can ship this item to Saudi Arabia. You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 2. This 31mm or the 35mm 1.4? Preference?

A: Selecting what is best depends on the job to be done. These lenses are not in the same class, the choice will be made on how high a quality of image and working experience is required. If the photographs are for personal use as well as experimentation in gathering different looks for an art piece, the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC is as good as anything. If the photograph is for commercial paid work, then no question you want the rugged reliability and top level image quality of the Pentax smcP FA 31mm f/1.8. Clients will not be impressed with how much you saved buying the lower price lens if the image is not perfect or if the lens fails mechanically during the shoot.

Q: 3. Follow up to K1000 question-does the K1000 have full functionality or does it only work with the largest aperture?

A: The Pentax HD PENTAX-FA 50mm f/1.4 Lens is fully compatible with K-mount film cameras, this lens allows you to retain all camera functions. The Pentax K1000 Film Camera will be work with the maximum aperture of f/1.4 and the minimum aperture of f/22.

Q: 4. Is this a face lift of the 35mm f/2.0 SMCP-FA AL Lens (B&H #PE352ALFA) or an entirely new optical formulation?

A: It has HD coatings and improved optics.

Q: 5. Was this designed for and will it work on a Pentax LX?

A: Yes, the Pentax HD Pentax-FA 35mm f/2 Lens would be compatible for use on the Pentax LX Camera. The LX uses the K mount, which is the Pentax proprietary bayonet lens mount.

Q: 6. I gather that it comes in seperate pieces, how many pieces are there ?

A: It comes in seven pieces.

Q: 7. Is this lens weather resistent? There’s nothing in the specs?

A: No.

Q: 8. Is there a huge difference between the realtree max and the black, will the black simply just make the lens more hot in the summer?

A: Thanks for the feedback everyone, all set now though.. we purchased one yesterday.

Q: 9. Will this lense work well with my Kx or K70?

A: Yes, the Pentax HD Pentax-FA 35mm f/2 Lens would be fully compatible for use on both the Pentax K-x DSLR Camera and the Pentax K70 DSLR Camera.

[Black] Beautiful lens; one part of the three FA Limited Series that are all wonderful. Favorite lens(es) that I've owned.

[Black] Just wow...fast and sharp, and built like the 70's SMC's. Using this on my KP crop sensor camera, so we've got a bit more angle than 77mm going on here (115mm?)... But that's just dandy. I'll have to use my legs to zoom out to 77mm.
When the next iteration of the K-1 comes out—I'm in.
This will be the first lens I mount on it.
I hope that Pentax releases a K-1 Mark III this year.
I'd only buy it at B&H, of course...

[Black] Very good lens as you can read every where, a little less for chromatic aberrations. I have a 77mm limted made in Japan, I was disappointed to discover when I opened the box that this 31mm is made in Vietnam, for this very high price item I would have expected a Made in Japan stamp.... ( about rate on the second hand market I imagine the Japanese will be higher in the future)

[Black] Now says Made in Vietnam instead of Assembled in Vietnam. Not sure there is any difference. Made in Japan would still be better for a VERY expensive lens, from a Japanese company, but whatever. It's still as good as it ever was.

[Black] Did I mention that this lens is sharp? It's sharp. Tack sharp. I got this lens a number of years ago to use on my K-5, K-3. Images were great, and the focal length was good on the crop sensor body. Combined with the K-01 (the mirrorless brick), image are even better. Put on on the full frame K-1, and you'll start to understand what "pixie dust" is. Based on the f-stop used and the focal distance to the subject, the bokeh is really interesting. And the image quality produced by this lens is amazing. Definitely at the top of my recommendation list. If you're thinking about it, then buy it. You'll never regret owning this lens.

[Black] These are film-era lenses with screw-drive autofocus. Pretty quick but make a slight noise. The older SMC coating is also prone to fringing wide-open in high contrast situations. Luckily there's a PP adjustment in your Pentax body to help minimize. Quirks aside, they quite possibly capture the most stunning and vibrant photos on film or your DSLR sensor, which help explain their continued production and high demand. The FA-31 is the biggest and baddest of the trio. When you need the extra degree of coverage for group shots and landscapes. Downside is the extra weight and bulk. If you are good at composition, your photos WILL stand out!

[Black] Absolutely beautiful lens. Incredibly sharp in the mid-range F-stops, but still very high quality on the extreme ends (f/22 and f/1.8). Small, which is perfect for what I need it for (travel photography) and really creates some wonderful images. Used it on a Pentax K-1, and FF is where I really think it shines, but I'm planning on using it with my non-FF cameras as well.

[Black] I like how I can get head and shoulder portraiture with great perspective rendering with this lens, I love B&W street portraiture and this lens is a great match for my K3 III monochrome body
