[White] Have not used it much now, but what I have taken are great. It is lighter and takes better pictures, so far, then an other 70-300 I have.

[White] I bought this to protect my camera during our rainy Pee Wee football season. It was easy to put on and looks like it will protect the lens. Perfect for our Washington weather.

[White] I bought this lens to upgrade from a kit 55-250mm aps-c lens. I have had this lens for a year now and like the extra reach, faster focus and that the front element is easier to clean. I don't use the digital display on the lens because I use it mostly for bird watching. The zoom lock is useful while hiking with lens hanging down.

[White] I'm not a pro but this lens feels great when focusing. Feels like you're rotating a substantial lens effortlessly.

[White] This lens was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a lens that could zoom farther, and this one definitely does. Even with zooming, most of my pictures still came out very clear.

[White] Only L options in this zoom range are extremely heavy (and white). Not a fan of the colour or weight. Waited for this lens to be in stock and ordered. Used for a recent trip to Hawaii. Unbelievable picture quality and focus speed. Absolutely no noise during focus. Again, the quality and colour of the pictures are unreal. For the money, lower weight, and non stand out colour, this lens is worth every penny and then some. Truly impressed!

[White] This lens was an upgrade from the older version. This lens is really fast, images are crisp and definitely worth the upgrade.

[White] I took an interest in photography after I retired in 2016. I'm 74 and still adding to my camera gear. This second generation Canon EF 70-300mm lens is a great addition to my Canon EOS 70D arsenal and it's perfect for wildlife photos. The bokeh is beautiful just as described. Being retired, I have the time to sit patiently on my patio waiting for hummingbirds and hoping for that perfect photo. Ah, retirement is great when you have photography as a hobby!

[White] The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM has very fast and silent AF. It is a full-frame lens, not a small lens but it handles extremely well with smooth zoom action. The manual focus ring at front focuses with a smooth action although it is not a mechanical linkage, it is focus-by-wire.

This is a medium weight lens. It weighs 1.5 lbs (750g) and can be awkward in small hands. The lens diameter is 3.1 inches. It balances well on the Canon R7.

Bokeh wide-open is excellent at all focal lengths. As a full-frame lens it renders sharp images at wide open aperture on APS-C sensors.

As you zoom to longer focal lengths there is a change in aperture. Aperture shift while zooming is as follows:
At 70mm aperture is f/4.
At 78mm aperture is f/4.5
At 106mm aperture is f/5.0.
At 176mm and on onwards f/5.6

This is an amazingly lens. Well built and a superb performer regardless of the price. That Canon can sell it at such a reasonable price is very surprising. It is an amazingly good deal.

[White] Great all-around tele-zoom, and sharp. Not as bright to focus with as my 300 2.8, but it’s a lot smaller and lighter for everyday shots. A versatile addition to my gear. Easy to use, the fastest autofocus I’ve seen. No tripod collar, but this lens is so easy to handle, and with IS, it doesn’t need one. Bought this lens to supplement, not replace any other lenses, feel like I got a lot for the price.
