When I plug it in to the computer , the software does not recognize the camera. it doesn't know the camera was just plugged in. However, if I use only the USB cord that came with the camera it works. What is going on ? I have a Canon 5D-MII and using Canon software that came with the camera to tether.

A: I use this cord with a nikon D610 and if it is detached during capture I will have turn off the camera and the capture software plug the cord back in the start the Nikon capture software then turn on the camera after the program is up. you could try testing the cord on another camera.

[USB-A Male] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice long extension for my son’s gaming pc setup. We use it to connect a “on air” led sign above his PC, the sign came with a very short usb but this usb extension cable makes it easier to set up above the PC. 5

[USB-A Male] Using it with the TetherBoost cable and active extension on a Sony a7Rii. Camera failed to stay connected with the cable and extension, but the added Core Controller solved that, works exactly as advertised, and it's been stable through 2 all-day tethered sessions so far. I feel like, for the money, this should be built in to the Active Extension cable and unnecessary... that said, the setup works great. 5
