Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would like ask if you have a kit, that has a receiver, transmitter and a battery power?

A: The only kit we carry from Amimon is the Amimon CONNEX Outdoor Digital Wireless Video System Kit. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1689835-REG/amimon_amn7000odr01_connex_outdoor_kit_in.html

Q: 2. If I film in 4k 60p, will it still transmit a signal to the Connexx, but just downgrade the footage to 1080p? Or will it not receive a 4k 60p signal at all? Thanks

A: I also film at 4K 60p, but my camera only sends 1080p 30p over the HDMI port which the Connex can transmit.

Q: 3. Where should the transmitter be powered from, separate battery, camera?

A: The Amimon Transmitter for CONNEX Mini HD Video Link for UAVs will require a 4 pin connector for use with a 8-26V 3S-6S battery.

Q: 4. How is this powered? I assume the air unit must run off a battery? If so what kind? Internal? How long will it run?

A: Hi,It ca nrun either with 7-17V power from the drone or external battery. The time it run depends on the bateery capacity. Thanks,Yoav

Q: 5. does this unit also transmit the sound channel that is inside the hdmi feed?

A: I read in a forum, not sure which, FPVlabs maybe, that is does not send the audio. I believe Connex said they have something that does send audio but I never looked into that. You would have to ask Amimon Connex. They are very helpful with questions. They sent me an upgraded cable to get additional NAZA info to show in the OSD at no charge. I have not tried it yet. I need a part from Team Black Sheep, or modify the one I have so the HDMI ribbon cable will fit. I tried it on my 250 mini quad and it was like watching a Blu-Ray video with no lag but that's not what I bought it for. Don't want to crash with such high dollar electronics, mini quad has no GPS or return to home ability. Brad

Q: 6. Does anyone know where I can source power cables for the transmitter? Would like to make some Anderson Powerpole and Anton Bauer connectors.

A: The transmitter comes with XT-60 power connector. If you purchase an XT-60 to DC jack adaptor, you'll be able to use a standard P-tap to DC jack cable

Q: 7. can you use more then one UAV in the same physical space ?

A: The transmitter can link to up to four receivers, for example allowing the pilot and camera operator to each have their own monitor or FPV goggles (additional receivers available separately).Under optimal conditions two or three of these paired systems should have enough operating variance to function in a large outdoor, open space under optimal conditions. Be aware that we have not tested this function nor are there published specs detailing this operation. Please contact the manufacturer directly for details:USA, AMIMON INC2025 Gateway Pl. Q: 8. how much does the transmitter weigh?

A: The part that goes in the air is 130 grams, and the ground unit weighs 260 grams

Q: 9. anyone know if this setup be used ground to ground with a regular hdmi output camera for remote focus capability?want to have a remote focus puller viewing camera feed.

A: Youd be better off with the Connex mini since the full sized one has a LOUD fan. Im flying a Connex Mini on a Ronin-M.

Q: 10. Would like ask if you have a kit, that has a receiver, transmitter and a battery power?

A: You can find a bundle that includes the Amimon CONNEX Nano HDR Camera, a transmitter, and a receiver here: https://bhpho.to/3rIoYIi.

[7 to 17 VDC] Great, cheap cable that lets you use lipos to power the ground station. This is super useful if you have a MOVI, as the Freefly Movi batteries use a JST connector and can power your ground station as well.

[7 to 17 VDC] Purchased last week, used on set last weekend.

TLDR: Love, love, love it. Tickled pink. Had Director, 1st AD, Sound (keep the boom out of shot!), and ready room all hooked to video on their phones, and at this price point!

Pros:
- Filming is a team sport: the value of letting people see what is happening in camera (clients, artistic collaborators, helpers, etc.) can NOT be understated
- options, options, options... USB or Battery power, USB power pass through, mounting (flash/screw)
- ease of access by anyone with a phone, a tablet, or a laptop running Mac silicon
- light weight, can mount on top of camera for use with a gimbal (and power through some gimbals via usb)
- price point: I shoot with a non-profit that helps people tell their stories through film, so price is important to consider, and this is a great value at the price point!

Cons (minor gripes, but no deal breakers in my opinion)
- Plastic body has a little flex in spots
- Light weight = not a lot of heat sink (unit got a little warm, but not intolerable)
- You might hesitate to use for pulling focus (60ms lag might be a little to long for quick action, but might do in a pinch for rack focus shots)

[4.1 W] Perfect choice for me !

[4.1 W] The Connex wireless systems have worked perfectly for us. We use them for small, wireless cameras in a sports venue. It only has to push video around 400 feet, but it's in an area with lots of RF interference and around 12,000 people. We're running at 1080p with no frame drops.

[4.1 W] This is what you need if you would like to power up your Connex Transmitter, right from any P-Tap, or like me, directly from the DJI Ronin P-Tap, that is right under the camera. So you don't have a lot of unnecessary wire length. Used it for 3 days in a row at a large venue, and got no problem at all.

[FR4 PCB] Perfect replacement antenna for both Connex unit. I was tired of using the wired antenna that came with the original kit, so I bought those so I could have rigid antenna on the transmitter, and that still gives me 3 backup antenna for either receiver or transmitter. Work as well as original.

[10 to 90%] 110' of boom, 10 HD monitor in the operator cab, a Mokose HD teaching camera on a weighted boom that always points down the crane's loadline. My only issue has been finding the right batteries. I currently (haha) have two 7 AH Lipo Dakota's, wired in parallel, plus 2 10 watt PV panels, with a charge controller. My system has been in operation for almost a year, and I am putting two more togther for friends in the crane business, as it has helped me so much. Every issue I have had while getting the bugs out, ended up being battery related. The transmitter is located in a PVC junction box, along with the batteries, no crane modifications were needed (or allowed), I have about 3K in the entire system and it's worth every penny, just in stress relief by being able to SEE!

[10 to 90%] Great product! Amazing HD Video with low latency. I used this along with the Silencer Fight Follow focus from 24shots. With this HD link adjusting focus and zoom was very easy. Great combo
