Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the filter this one comes with glass or gelatin??

A: Hi, the Canon 52mm Drop-in Filter Holder comes with a glass filter.

Q: 2. The glass that already installed on the holder when you buy it new what is that glass do?

A: It is just a clear piece of glass similar to a UV filter. You can replace this with other filters such as ND or Polarizing filters as well.

Q: 3. Is this filter deep enough to allow the lens cap to lock onto it?

A: Yes the lens cap fits just fine.

Q: 4. What is the difference between this filter holder and the less expensive model sold for $89.00?

A: Wll means the color matches the Versiion 2 lenses.

Q: 5. Can this be used with the Canon EF 200mm f2L IS Lens?

A: I don't have that lens. I have EF 300 f2.8 L II and the EF 200-400 Ext and bought to use with those. Tested on the 300 and fits fine. I also have the circular polariser. Bought the screw in holder to use with ND filter.

Q: 6. will this fit the new z-mount 24 - 70 lens without touching the convex lens?

A: If you are referring to the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S Lens, yes, the Nikon Neutral Clear Filter (72mm) will work. If you are referring to the f/2.8 version lens it will not.

Q: 9. does this effect exposure at all? If so by how many stops?

A: According to B+W, the filter factor of their Cross Screen 8x filters is 0, so there should be little to no affect on exposure.

Q: 10. Is this the correct filter holder for a B+W 52mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter? I am using a Canon 300 2.8II lens. How do I remove the clear filter to use the B&W ND filter?

A: Hello Wayne C,This is the correct filter holder for a 52mm screw-in filter for the Canon 300mm f2.8 II lens. I am not familiar with the B+W 52mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M filter, but I do use Hoya Pro ND 52mm filters with this Canon drop-in filter holder. The Hoya Pro ND filters are just thin enough to fit in the drop-in holder in the 300 f2.8 II lens. Any slim or low-profile filter would fit and medium thickness filters should be fine, but thick filters may not fit.To use the the new drop-in filter holder with a 52mm filter, you first have to remove the entire gel filter holder that came with the 300mm f2.8 II lens originally - by squeezing the two external metal knobs towards each other and sliding the holder out of the lens.Best wishes,David

[Solid ND] The NiSi 6-stop Nano filter lets one prolong the exposure speed. When mounting a camera on a tripod, one can use long exposures to flatten the appearance of waves on a lake or harbor, or give clouds in the sky the appearance of movement. The filter is well made and fits well to Nikon lenses.

[52 mm] 4 stop ND but as advertised. Know exactly how many stops used rather than VND with imprecise wheel.

[Brass] I cannot believe the depth and saturation of color of my sunsets using this filter. NiSi also has a free APP called NiSi Filters that helps you chose the correct shutter speed. This takes some of the mystery out of using it.
