Q: 2. I got a D500 camera. What size NC filter do I need?

A: That depends on the lens you are using. The lens usually mentions the size on the front ring around the glass.

Q: 3. Will this 52mm Clear NC Glass Filter by Nikon work/fit on my AF-s NIKKOR 17-55mm f2.8? Also, will it work/fit on NIKKOR 70-200mm f2.8VRII? What clear filter would you recommend for each of this len?Thank you.

A: No, that will not fit those lenses. Both lenses use a 77mm filter size not 52.This would be my first recommendation.B+W 77mm XS-Pro Clear MRC-Nano 007 FilterB&H # BWCXSP77 Mfr # 66-1066111http://bhpho.to/1rDbpoMThen you have this one,Hoya 77mm HD2 Protector FilterB&H # HOPH277 Mfr # XHD2-77PROTEChttp://bhpho.to/1oc4kVM

Q: 4. Is this the correct filter holder for a B+W 52mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter? I am using a Canon 300 2.8II lens. How do I remove the clear filter to use the B&W ND filter?

A: Hello Wayne C,This is the correct filter holder for a 52mm screw-in filter for the Canon 300mm f2.8 II lens. I am not familiar with the B+W 52mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M filter, but I do use Hoya Pro ND 52mm filters with this Canon drop-in filter holder. The Hoya Pro ND filters are just thin enough to fit in the drop-in holder in the 300 f2.8 II lens. Any slim or low-profile filter would fit and medium thickness filters should be fine, but thick filters may not fit.To use the the new drop-in filter holder with a 52mm filter, you first have to remove the entire gel filter holder that came with the 300mm f2.8 II lens originally - by squeezing the two external metal knobs towards each other and sliding the holder out of the lens.Best wishes,David

Q: 5. Is this the best filter for Nikon d5500 50mm lens?

Q: 6. which filter for 18-140mm f3.5?

Q: 7. Does the lens come with a protective hard case or do I need to purchase something else to go with it?

A: Yes, this filter comes with a protective hard case to store it in when not in use.

Q: 8. Will this work with the 300mm 2.8l is mk1?

Q: 9. Will this work well with achieving the sunray effect during sunrise/sunset? Will this filter effect the look of the image in any other way?

Q: 10. Can I use with Nikon P1000 ?

A: Yes, the P1000 is compatible with this filter.

[Glass] When three stops are too little, and 10 stops are too much, six stops are just right. Kind of like Goldilocks' porridge experience.

[0.74 lb] Used it for the first time today to help darken storm clouds and appear more misty. Have not not used in any other situations. As day became lighter, I switched to a 9 stop ND filter to maintain the 30 to 40 second exposure value.

[52 mm] I cannot believe the depth and saturation of color of my sunsets using this filter. NiSi also has a free APP called NiSi Filters that helps you chose the correct shutter speed. This takes some of the mystery out of using it.

[Solid ND] We are using this on the Sony 200-600mm. Image quality is great with no noticeable loss in sharpness, added vignette, or color shift.

[Brass] I’m new to IR photography. I’m using a Sony F828 with the magnet hack (Google it) & various external filters. I started with standard filters such as 720nm & 850nm but wanted something to pass more color for a more interesting twist. This 550nm delivers; it was worth the wait. It’s a lot of fun and making me enjoy photography again. There’s a lot of information out there about post-processing. Play with channel swapping (Photoshop channel mixer) to flex your creative muscles.

[0.74 lb] The NiSi 6-stop Nano filter lets one prolong the exposure speed. When mounting a camera on a tripod, one can use long exposures to flatten the appearance of waves on a lake or harbor, or give clouds in the sky the appearance of movement. The filter is well made and fits well to Nikon lenses.
