Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone have any experience with this and cubase? I am reading mixed things about it's compatibility with Cubase and El Capitan?

A: If you are having issues with the compatibility of these 2 products or are speculating on things you have read. The best thing to do would be to contact Akai support and ask them. As the manufacturer they will have far more accurate information than anyone else.

Q: 2. Will this work with ProTools?

A: Yes, you can set up the Impact LX25+ controller for use with Pro Tools.

Q: 3. Does it include a license for Kontakt?

A: No, the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol M32 does not include a license for NI Kontakt.

Q: 4. Whether its compatible with windows 7 and cubaseLE?

A: The unit is compatible with Cubase as well as most other software that supports MIDI functionality. When connecting via USB, the unit is compatible with Windows 7 SP1 or later (32-bit / 64-bit) Wireless connectivity for Windows requires Windows 8.1 or later (32-bit/64-bit) KORG BLE-MIDI Driver is required.

Q: 5. can the akai professional mpk minimkii work on my macbook pro with 10.10?

A: Hi! Happy to help! The MPK mini MKII is supported for use on macOS Yosemite 10.10. But, for the best results with the included software, we recommend macOS 10.12 - 10.14.

Q: 6. Does it come with pre-programmed drum beats?

A: No. There are no sounds in the unit and there are no sound output connectors. It is a controller only.

Q: 7. Does it work with Magix Music Maker?

A: If the program allows for MIDI input, it should work. I keep this little keyboard in my backpack at all times and I use it almost daily. It's great for getting ideas out quickly on-the-go. That being said, if you're looking to get into music production and you're on a budget, I would recommend you look into Logic Pro X ($199 US) instead of Magix Music Maker. The last time I worked with someone and they opened up a session in Magix Music Maker was.... never. Logic is one of a number of industry standard DAWs and if price is a factor, I would highly recommend it. If price is not an issue, than I would recommend Ableton Live ($599 EUR) due to the unmatched workflow that it offers.

Q: 8. THIS PRODUCT IS NEW?

A: All items in our inventory are new unless clearly stated otherwise on the item's page, or if you are searching on the Used section of our website.

Q: 9. Does the MiniFuse go into standby when the computer is put to sleep, or do the LEDs stay on all the time unless you unplug the USB cable?

A: The Arturia MiniFuse 2 Portable 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface will remain on as long there is voltage sent from the computer's USB port to the interface. When the computer goes to sleep, the interface will eventually shut down as well and the LEDs will also turn off.

Q: 10. What sustian pedals does it support?

A: The Akai MPK mini MKII can be used with most sustain pedals that have a standard 1/4" TS connector such as the On-Stage KSP100 (B&H # ONKSP100), Auray - FP-S1L (B&H# AUFPS1L), Auray FP-P1L (B&H# AUFPP1L), or M-Audio - SP-1 (B&H# MASP1). If you click on the tab for "Accessories" on the item page, you'll see a list of options on the left side of the page. Click on the link for "Pedals" and you can view a selection of compatible sustain pedals and other for punch in/punch out that can be used with the MPK mini MKII.

[3.215 lb] I was looking for a controller that had a real piano feel but also integrated out of the box w/ my DAW (Logic). It was between this and the M-Audio Hammer 88. This one looks and feels much higher quality and has a lot more onboard controls that allow me to do most of what I need in Logic right from the Arturia controller. It looks really great in the studio too!

[Yes] This is a solid MIDI controller with nice feeling semi-weighted keyboard. It has lots of integrated controls for modulating the included Arturia synth plugins and good integration with many popular DAW software packages. I opted for the semi-weighted 61 key version due to recovering from 60+ years of making parts and hand issues. There is an 88 key piano weighted version also.

[USB Bus Power] Arturia's BeatStep Pro is a very welcome addition to my hardware. I have been able to use it in place of keys in a lot more situations that I expected. With this in my collection, I was also able to grow the confidence to let go of a drum machine I had held onto for too long.

I had looked at a couple of sequencers because my main synthesizer did not have one built in. It is a nice piece, and I looked at a lot of nice sequencers. The BeatStep Pro kept getting good reviews, so I picked one up expecting to sell it when I purchased another. Well, I kept using it and ended up setting a couple of other pieces free. It is really nice to work with.

My biggest issue is one that runs across a lot of pieces. Arturia has created an extensive .pdf manual. At times the page count reminds me of Devarahi's textbook (length more than raw info). I think Arturia could distill this information into a 30 page manual included with the BSP. We could then have it for easy reference.

[3.215 lb] A really good option if you're looking for a mid-sized midi keyboard that also has solid integration with many DAWs (Logic here).
Especially rad if you use some Arturia VSTs, as the integration there is especially tight.

Has some really cool features I dig; check out YT vids for the rundown.
No aftertouch, but it also isn't priced for aftertouch.
Included software is really nice.
40%(ish) recycled plastic, heck yeah.

An excellent board for surfin sounds.

[3.215 lb] Don't have a lot to compare it to, but sequencer and key action seem about as good as I could ask for as a newb electronic music creator.

[3.215 lb] Not much of.a learning curve, everything's pretty much obvious with a few oh, that's nice extra features layered on top. Good labelling and layout of all the features.

[Yes] The controller is sturdy and fully programmable. It works great with the ipad, however you need a PC/Mac to program it the first time. The step sequencer is a great bonus for the price and it is easy to use. I highly recommend this controller.
