Q: 1. How does this filter compare with the B+W 58mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter? I can't tell the difference from the descriptions.

A: Their are two difference between the B+W 58mm UV Haze MRC 010M Filter, and the B+W 58mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter. The XS Pro UV filter features a very thin brass rim to prevent vignetting when using the UV filter on a very wide angle lens. Both filters feature brass rims and the same glass with MRC Multi Coating. The second difference is the the Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters that provides an additional eighth layer over the MRC, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water, and scratch prevention.

Q: 5. The description mentions that it has a thin ring . Others have mentioned that a thin ring prevents the use of a normal lense cap . Also that thin ring prevents the use of another filter to be attached to the front of the UV filter . Does B&W make 72mm filter that addresses these issues ?

A: I have not had any issues with a lens cap with this UV filter in place. The filter works beautifully. As for attaching other filters, I rarely attach other filters but this UV filter does have threading to allow attachment of additional filters. You could also remove this filter pretty easily and attach another filter as needed. Hope that helps..
