A: This adapter can only be used to mount Canon FD mount lenses onto Canon EF mount cameras.

A: No it won't change the aperture, but you are in FULL MANUAL mode as the FD lens will not do anything on an auto focus camera. All Manual from focus to F stop exposure may work, but take some test shots. I use my old lenses on a 7D and it's FULL manual with ant FD lens !

A: Rafael,You can, and I have used the adapter on my T3I to adapt a relatively ancient 135 mm FL lens.When canon moved from their old FD/FL flange to that used with the EOS lenses, the mount moved a little further from the sensor. It is very difficult to make an adapter that can get the lens close enough, the consequence being that the lens cannot focus out to infinity. The removeable lens makes a focus adjustment so that you can focus all of the way out.However, the quality of that removeable lens is not as good as the lens you are mounting, so sharpness will take a noticeable hit. I was experimenting with using my FL 135 for closeup work, and took it out. Ultimately I was not that happy with the image sharpness with the FL lens and went on to buy a modern macro. If you are adapting a different lens, particularly an FD lens your results may be better.Good Luck; it's certainly not an expensive experiment.Jerel

A: I would say you loose almost a full stop. I bought it for an old 200mm macro which doesn't use the lens in the adaptor and I'm happy.

A: I don't have a comparison with other options, this adapter however is solidly built and works very well.

[Canon XL] This adapter is simple to use, and expands your ability as a photographer ten fold. With it, you can use any Canon FD mount lens on a Nikon F mount body, just so long as the camera is in Manual mode. I had a lot of doubts before buying this, but I assure you, this will preform as you want it to. It is strong as well, I use it with a 3+ pound (about 1.5 Kg) 100-500 mm lens and it does not even flinch. 5

[Canon XL] Using this on a nice old 200mm Canon FD f2.8 fixed lens for astrophotography. It does the trick and I can focus cleanly on the distant stars at infinity. It isn't like some of the shoddy looking/feeling ones I saw elsewhere. 5

[0.25 lb] This lens adapter is super helpful if you are looking to buy older, more cheaper canon fd lenses for your Nikon! but cannon fd lenses and the adapter don't have ai or anything auto, so its an all manual lens, that can only be used in manual mode which is not a problem if you know what to do. 5
