Stay connected while camping, on car trips, biking, hiking, or in extreme weather situations without the need for cell service with this 2-pack of black and yellow Motorola Talkabout T470 FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radios. This radio uses FRS/GMRS channels and has a range of up to two miles in urban or outdoor settings, six miles in open spaces, and up to 35 miles in mountain-to-valley communications. Keypad and call tones indicate when a transmission is being made. The T470 features NOAA weather channels and alerts, allowing you to stay connected, no matter the situation. The built-in LED flashlight will light your way once the sun goes down.

Each of the included NiMH battery packs provides up to 12 hours of power or uses three AAs for up to 28 hours. When the power level drops, a flashing alert lets you know reserves are low so you can recharge or insert new AA batteries. The pack includes a USB charger with a Y-cable for both radios. A keypad lock prevents personalized settings from being inadvertently changed by requiring a passcode to make alterations; the time-out feature automatically turns the lock on after a period of inactivity. Two belt clips and 16 personalization stickers are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The specs indicate GMRS channels are 1-7 and 15-22. What are the uses for channels 8-14 and are there any channels beyond 22?

A: Channels 8-14 on the Midland MicroMobile MXT275 15-Channel Two-Way GMRS Radio are only allowed up to 0.5 watts of power by the FCC. Since the MXT275 is not capable of transmitting at such a low power, these channels have been removed from the radio. The FRS/GMRS frequency range has a standard 22 channels.

Q: 2. Can you use a single ear w/ mic headset?

A: Yes. This walkie talkie is great.

Q: 3. Do they have a voice activation mode (VOX on all the other FRS' I've purchased)?

A: Yes most of the other Midland two way radios do have e Vox. Normally 3 levels of easy voice activation.

Q: 4. Can I get another charging base to charge units in different locations?

A: Extra chargers are available for this radio. The model number is AVP10 for $20.

Q: 5. Can the battery be replaced/swapped out in the field?

A: Unfortunately not, the internal battery for the Midland GXT67 Pro GMRS Two-Way Radio is not user replaceable.

Q: 6. Can I just use regular AA batteries or do I have to have a Midland battery pack? Thanks!

A: Yes you can use AA.

Q: 7. How do you set and un set VOX mode ?

A: There is no VOX mode available on these radios.

Q: 8. Is this the part number AVPH10? Will this fit the lxt midland gmrs radios?

A: Yes, this is the Midland AVPH10 and it is compatible for use with Midland LXT series radios.

Q: 9. The description says this can be used for hiking. So there is a battery and it is portable... can be used without a vehicle?

A: The Midland MXT275J Jeep MicroMobile 15W Two-Way GMRS Radio does not have an internal battery. It is designed for semi-permanent installation inside of a vehicle.

Q: 10. What else do I need to purchase to work with full face motorcycle helmets?

A: In addition to this system, Midland recommends the AVP-H2 Helmet kit.

[8.8 x 7 x 2.9"] Finally - a GMRS handheld that hooks up to my repeater and the battery life is amazing! A lifesaver on my farm. And not a bad price for two.

[1.375 lb] These have great battery life and also takes AA batteries. I've used them through a Retevis RT97 GMRS repeater (antenna height at 15 feet due to limitations). Through the repeater, I was able to get about 5.5 miles from elevated rural terrain and a strong, clear copy while driving around this small town. (if you don't know what a repeater is, look it up as this type of radio setup is not the same as a simple direct radio to radio communication). As far as simple direct radio to radio performance, the terrain and buildings greatly affect range. In my small town, I was able to get a clear copy up to 0.6 miles in High Power setting. That's about the average range when using this type of radio within city limits. When I drove up to slightly elevated terrain towards the outer city limits, where little to no obstructions were present, I got about 3 miles with some noise but still readable signal. Overall, a solid little GMRS radio and definitely recommend it if you need a repeater-capable radio that takes AA batteries.

[121] Used several times since purchase and they worked very well! Volume is high enough to hear using ear protection and could hear call sounds above tractor or wood cutting noise. Dropped and lost one in a wood pile and was able to easily find using the call function. Range on our 10 acre farm was not an issue at all and battery life was great lasting all day.

[Micro-USB] Our 6 bay auto service center is part of a 1/2 acre facility that includes a showroom, tire storage areas, utility room, a business office, and brake room. We used to spend a lot of time trying to find people. With key people having radios now, we are more productive.

[Built-In, Fixed] I've had the GXT1000 for 8 years and have enjoyed it. One thing that has been missing is repeater capability and a nice lithium battery. Well the GXT3000 delivers on that! I've been using this radio for two days and it still has battery life. I love the fact it has USB-C charging so I can charge it like a cell phone. I didnt think I would care for the flashlight until I dropped my keys under my seat. Used the flashlight to find them in a jiffy.
