A: This bracket is designed to clamp onto an I-beam in the ceiling above the ceiling tiles. You attach a pole to it (click the accessories tab to see the various ones) and then connect an adapter bracket (ex. PEPRGUNV) to the pole. The pole will extend down through the ceiling tiles to hold the projector mount (assuming your projector is designed to be mounted. Alternately you could possibly use a equipment mount (ex. for DVD/VCR/etc...) that adapts to the pole. I used these brackets to hang 65-inch TVs from I-beams up in the ceiling and they are very steady.
