The 2" Ice Magco Telescope Polarizer Filter Set 2"features two polarizer filters and a screw-in magnetic adapter. Rotate one filter to vary light reduction from 1 to 40%. The set is compatible with any telescope with a 2" eyepiece. The filters are designed with glass optics multicoated to eliminate reflections.

Q: 1. Is this a circular polarizer? Are there any pics of it?

A: Yes, it is a circular polarizer. The first photo, is a direct photo of the filter.

Q: 2. Is this filter (Nikon 95mm Circular Polarizer Filter II) multicoated?

A: I checked the Nikon manual for the filter and it is silent on multi-coating (generic filter foldout is provided). A competing website for B&H says that it is. Nikon's website is also silent. So I cannot say for sure. I am happy with the filter, the glass is exceptional using it on a new Nikon 200-500. Please note that it is exceptionally thin, spinning the CPL piece is easy while get it on and off the lens takes some care as I have big hands.

Q: 3. The first photo of this item shows a rectangular filter, but the description says circular. Which shape is it?

A: The Ice 84 x 98mm P Series Circular Polarizer Filter is a rectangular shape but the effect is called circular polarizer.

Q: 4. Will this fit a 24-120mm lens?

A: Yes, the current 24-120mm Nikon lenses uses 77mm filters so the Nikon Circular Polarizer II Filter (77mm) is the correct size.

Q: 5. will this fit a Nikkor Af-S 50mm 1:1.4G lens?

A: Yes Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens is compatible with Nikon Circular Polarizer II Filter (58mm).

Q: 6. will this fit on my Nikkor 17-55mm 1:2.8 G ED Lens?

Q: 7. Is this filter scratch resistant?

A: The filter is made of glass. Only something harder than glass can scratch it like diamonds or topaz.

Q: 8. Will this fit Nikon Coolpix P1000?

A: Yes it will fit.

Q: 9. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.

Q: 10. Can this be used on a Fujifilm lens so long as it has a 52mm diameter?

A: Yes, any lens with 52mm filter threads will work with this filter.

[2"] The polarizing eyepiece was on backorder for a few weeks, but B&H kept me informed. Shipping was secure - well packaged. The filter is in 2 pieces and seems of quality manufacture. The metal frames around the filter pieces fit together easily, and rotate smoothly as one varies the polarizing effect. I haven't given it a thorough test yet as the moon has been covered by clouds. 5

[Glass] I am a wildlife photographer/videographer and use magnetically attaching lens filters to be able to switch in/out ND filters that are essential for video. I bought the Ice Magno 3 stop ND filter as it was available in 95mm for a quite low price. I use it on my Olympus 100-400mm 1.25x lens and it has an insignificant color cast and I van pop it on and off the lens even with the lens hood attached. 5

[2"] I installed this on my Canon 16-35 lens for the eclipse on April 8th. The magnetic interface makes it easy to remove and replace on the lens while keeping it securely in place during shooting. 5

[2"] I use this for real estate and landscape on a wide angle lens without standard filter threads. I use an adapter to attach it to the lens. I can’t tell you that there’s a difference between the quality of this filter and all the other polarizers I have made by Hoya Tiffen and b+w. It’s great. It’s not the kind of filter you leave attached to your lens when not shooting, put it back in the plastic case when not in use, or throw your whole rig in a custom-cut padded pelican case. It’s delicate. No metal frame, so be careful. It’s as easy to clean as any other glass filter, repels most dust and fingerprints. 5
