Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this lens with a canon r5 without any adapter?

A: Yes. The following system is a RF-mount based lens.

Q: 2. Which matte box (with VND) would work with this lens?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.1 FF Prime Cine Lens (E Mount) has an 82mm filter thread that will allow you to work with the Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box listed below: Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box BH #TIMBT16A

Q: 3. Since this lens is for a Super35, would a crop factor still apply? In other words, is this lens really 50mm or 75mm (crop factor)? Thanks.

A: Yes, a crop factor will be applied to this Super35 lens.

Q: 4. Will these lenses cover Medium Format?

A: No, the Meike FF-Prime Cine Lenses cover full frame sensors.

Q: 5. Can the PL version of these lenses be used on EF mount cameras with an adapter? Is there any protruding element or other issues that would not allow that?

A: Yes, with the right lens adapter you can attach this lens to a Canon EF mount camera. You would want to use this adapter: BH #FOPLEOSPFC10

Q: 6. Are these Meike FF- Prime Cine 24mm design for Canon R5?

A: The Meike 24mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (RF-Mount) is compatible with the Canon R5.

Q: 7. Since this is designed to cover a Super 35 sensor, does this mean it would not have the typical 1.4-1.6x crop factor? I am planning on buying the Bmpcc 6k Pro and am concerned with the increasing crop factor when shooting RAW in resolutions under 6k.

A: The crop factor is determined by the size of the sensor not the design of the lens. The fact that this lens is designed for super35 means that it will not work well larger sensor cameras (such as Full Frame or Medium Format).

Q: 8. Can you buy a PL mount to swap between EF and PL?

A: No, a PL mount cannot be added to the EF version of this lens.

Q: 9. Is this a manual focus wide angle cinema lens?

A: This is a manual focus 35mm T2.1 cine lens. Technically, 35mm is wide, but it's often considered as a midway between wide (20s-mm focal lengths) and normal (50mm).

Q: 10. Since I have Canon and Sony cameras, Can I buy this lenses as EF mount and use adapter when I wanna use with Sony full frame such as FX3?

A: Yes, The Meike 35mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (EF Mount) is a Full frame lens will be able to work with an adapter. We offer many EF to E-mount adapter solutions like the following that will support Cinema glass. https://bhpho.to/3pUX4rv

[Full Frame] I purchased a trio (24, 35, 85) L mounts, as a test for Lumix full frames before jumping to Red ecosystem. This was really great for moving me into cinema lenses and learning to smoothly focus as a 1 person shooter in most cases. I LOVE the 85mm, and even though we primarily use Canon CNE primes and the 30-105mm, Im not afraid to mix in the 85 mounted on a S1H at 6K for a 3rd shot angle..extremely pleased

[Canon EF] This lens is an excellent entry into the world of cinematic filming. Great reproduction of color. Focus takes a little getting used to with the amount of focal range. Overall great lens!

[135mm] It does its job. Cool cine lens that you can use on your Canin R Series with an nd adapter. Did a music video with it a couple of days ago and came out great!

[45.0 mm] Beautiful chunk of hardware. Combining the 85, and 35 from this set has been an absolute blast. I will probably pick up the 16 next

[T2.4] This glass is has little CA , is built well and neutral so you can use these lenses in the real world... the DZO vespids are smaller and have a full set already...true!(as of writing only the 35mm,50mm,85mm and soon the 24mmare avail) But for about the same money you get lenses that are marginally softer and I mean barely... but but THE lack of CA cant be understated... the size and weight is small for cine not as small as dzo but I LIKE the fact they dont look like toys on my Red Gemini... I have all the current PL 35-50-85 and I used recently on Green screen all 3 performed brilliantly... these are the best BUDGET cine lenses I have ever used and Meike is straight forward about how they are able to that. Personally I can manage with just the 35 50 and 85 for most corp stuff etc but my cine work I am waiting on them to release 16mm Hopefully the 24mm ships in Nov but times are tuff.... Anyway- I cant belive the IQ and Build Q at this price - I have NO issues with filter threads as another reviewer mentioned however a good basic matte box for these on the cheap is the Tiltaing Mattebox that takes 1 4x5.65 if you just need a solution -note-you need the 85mm outer adapter for the Tilta to work in clamp on mode*its in accessories I think... anyway this is a fantastically clean lens that gives me build and mechanics needed to work in the real world...so long sigma art photo glass. !!!

[135mm] I seriously LOVE what these lenses do as an intro set of Cine glass. As a long time Sigma Art series user I didn't realize how much of an upgrade this was going to be from Photo glass. I'm super happy with the money i spent on this and also the 35mm. I will be getting the 24mm and 85mm ASAP!

[T22] Super happy with the image from this sub $1000 lens. Great focal length when paired with the 24mm,35mm, and 50mm.

Hope to get a lot of life out of this!

[Full Frame] Love how this lens renders colors. It leans more to the warms side which I like a lot. The focus throw is a bit longer than I'm use to, but It will take some time getting use to as solo operator. My first AC is fine with it. It's a very sharp lens wide open. Flares are okay, wish it flare with a circular or onion ring tho. Overall good lens for the price, I will try out the 24mm and 35mm. I hope they matched with the 16mm in terms of colors. I have seen reviews where they say the line up doesn't match. I hope they fixed that issue.

[11] This is a perfect step up from photo lenses into Cine lenses. If your wondering if you will see a difference between a set of Sigma Art glass and this... You will! I personally think the falloff and flaring on these lenses are perfect for the Modern/vintage blend with a slightly warmer tone then DZO Primes I find these to be a little more welcoming to skin tones.

If you're wondering if this is worth the price tag. I'd say so!
