Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does one deal with the focus in the rangefinder using this adapter?

A: As the FotodioX Minolta MD/MC Pro Lens Adapter does not have electronic contacts, and does not transmit information from the lens to the camera, autofocus is not possible when using this adapter. You will have to focus manually when using a manual-focus Minolta MD/MC mount lens on a Leica M-mount camera.

Q: 2. Can I use Minolta sr mount lenses with this?

A: I use the adapter with my lenses that I had for my Minolta SRT 101. The lens I use mainly is a Kiron 72mm zoom. The auto focus does not work but I have never used an auto focus camera so that does not bother me.

Q: 3. Does this fit on an A7ii? I know all E-mounts are supposed to be the same, but there are reviews on Amazon claiming that this adapter didn't fit on their A7ii/A7s bodies

A: We could not find any evidence of this mount having issues doing what it is supposed to do.

Q: 4. Does it work with a Sony A7sii?

A: Yes it does

Q: 5. Will this adapter allow me to use a manual focus and exposure 42.7mm screw mount lens on my old Minolta 35mm SRT-201 camera?

A: The Bower T-Mount Lens to Minolta MD Mount Camera Adapter is only compatible with lenses have a T-mount fitting; a screw-mount lens will not be compatible.

Q: 6. Came with zero documentation. Description says can remove corrector lens, but w/o exact instruction on how I wont. SO HOW? Or am I missing paperwork?

A: To remove the magnifying glass from the Fotodiox mount adapters, first one needs a marcofiber cloth or a lens tissue. With protective material, grip the glass firmly in one hand, and the adapter edge with the other hand. Then one needs to rotate the adapter clockwise, while holding the glass still. The ring has quite a few threads so it may take many turns before the magnifying glass separates from the adapter. Be careful because the magnifying glass consists of 3 sections. Put the parts in a safe place, because one may be interesting in putting the adapter back together again.

Q: 7. I have a an old Sigma for Minolta-A 75-300mm F4.5 lens. Will this adapter work for my Sony a7iii?

A: You will need a Minolta/Sony Alpha adapter to Sony E mount adapter. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/38coa2Y

Q: 8. Does the adapter multiply the effective focal length of Minolta lenses by a factor of 1.5?

A: I have a 135mm prime MD mounted on a X-T1, compared to the Fujifilm XF18-135 at 135mm there is a crop or effective zoom, say maybe *looking* like a 150mm equivalent using the 135 prime MD mount. If one is out and about shooting this isn't a big difference at all. I shoot using a multitude of bodies with differing sensor sizes, crop factor only really figures in my shooting when I am either shooting very far away, with a long 400mm or longer lens, I want all the effective zoom I can get or very close (macro) again, I want the image as big as possible on the sensor. For landscape and people, portraits it's not really a factor. The X-T1 works well for me for that stuff. To answer your question though, using the MD adapter converts a *full frame* (35mm format) lens to a sensor that is less than full frame size so it will result in the image being focused on an area larger than the sensor, but that works out to something less than 1.5,more like 1.14 using the FotodioX MD adapter. Hope this helps.

Q: 9. What is the effective change in the adapted lens' focal length? E.g., for a 40mm lens, what is its effective focal length when used with the adapter?

A: The adapter will not change the focal length of the lens.

Q: 10. Why am I unable to fire the shutter on a Fuji X-Pro2 with this adapter and a 50mm Minolta MC macro lens?

A: The camera doesn't recognize that the adapter is mounted as there are no electronic contacts. First, enable the "shoot without lens’ option in the menu under ‘BUTTON/DIAL SETTING’ sub-menu in the setup menu.

[0.2 lb] It's durable and snug. No issues between the lens and my camera.

[C-Mount] I have been using Fotodiox products for more than a year and this one is at the level of quality that I have on all the other products: the highest.

[Brass] Allows one to use Minolta lens on a Fujifilm X-mount such as an XT-1. The quality of your phots will, I believe, be the result of the quality of the Minolta lens since the adapter does not appear to effect the lens operating on a Fujifilm X-mount camera. I used the adapter for Minolta manual focus lens from the 1970's.

[Brass] My Rokkor 58mm, 1.4 focuses fine out to infinity. Although its aperture no longer stops down I can still use it wide open. All of my other Minolta mounts are on Vivitar lenses and they all work. My K3 allows me to set the focal length recognition manually (not sure if that matters). All else is done in Aperture Priority mode. The default exposure can be adjusted with EV Compensation button. So far it works as advertised.

[3 x 2.9 x 1.3"] The adapter works really well with my older Minolta lenses. It attached to the camera body easily and my lenses are easy to attach and remove.

[C-Mount] Does what it's intended to do, I've purchased 2 and haven't noticed any quality concerns. Cheap enough that you can buy one for each of your Minolta lenses if you wanted, which is what I did. I great way to expand your lens arsenal on a budget.

[C-Mount] This adapter has made my day! I wanted to try my Minolta lens I had purchased in 1973 on my Sony a6000. I'm getting great quality pictures with my 46 year old MC Rokkor-x PG 1:14 f=50mm now!! A solid well built adapter.

[3 x 2.9 x 1.3"] I got an old Minolta SRT101 with several nice lenses that I wanted to use with my Sony A5000. I sent a message to the pros at B&H and they instantly wrote me back what the right adapter was. My lenses clicked right into place perfectly and I can definitely use them for some cool shots! Thanks for the excellent customer service, price and quality product. I will buy again from B&H (this was the first time I had ever bought anything--a good experience for me). -Matt
