The Tokina 29mm T1.5 Cinema Lens E Mount Feetwith a Sony E mount and focus scales marked in feet provides an image circle that more than covers full-frame sensors, and it is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. This 29mm focal length lens shares the same form factor, lens gear position, focus rotation, and front barrel diameter as the other Tokina Cinema Vista prime lenses. This makes on-set lens changes a fast and efficient operation.

It features a maximum T stop of 1.5, which is useful when shooting in low-light situations or when you want to capture that exceedingly shallow depth of field look. The 9-bladed iris provides round, out-of-focus highlights for a natural-looking bokeh. The Cinema Vista Prime lenses are designed to minimize focus breathing and feature geared, manual focus and iris rings. Markings on both sides of the lens barrel make it readable from either side of the camera.

The 29mm T1.5 Sony E mount prime lens focuses images on a sensor with full 8K resolution and features a 45.6mm image circle, which easily covers standard-sized full-frame sensors.

The use of a 9-blade iris produces a smooth, round appearance to out-of-focus specular highlights. The iris also produces a pleasing bokeh, referring to natural-looking, out-of-focus areas of the image. The iris is manual and features smooth movement without click stops for smooth exposure adjustments while recording.

The lens has markings on both sides of the barrel, making it easy to read focus and aperture settings from behind or from either side of the camera.

The lens shares the same front lens diameters and gear positioning on the focus and iris rings as the other lenses in the series, making lens switching quick and convenient.

It is designed to minimize variations in the angle of view while focusing, a phenomenon known as focus breathing. This feature is extremely important while pulling focus, especially on static shots, where focus breathing is more noticeable.

The lens features threading on the front of the lens to accommodate 112mm screw-on filters. This feature allows the camera operator to add filters over the lens without taking up a filter stage in a matte box.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi. Can you confirm this lens has an interchangeable mount and if you have the either EF or PL mount kit available?

A: No, the Tokina Cinema AT-X 100mm T2.9 Macro Lens (Canon EF Mount) does not have interchangeable lens mounts.

Q: 2. Works Covering Sony fx6 sensor?

A: no it does not. This lens's sensor coverage is larger than super 35mm but smaller than Full Frame. It is ideal for cameras like Red Komodo (which has a slightly larger than Super35mm sensor) and is only compatible with Full Frame Cameras like the FX9 when using the crop mode. Therefore we do not recommend this lens for the FX6 as it will not cover the camera's Full Frame Sensor.

Q: 3. Does the 35mm CN-E lens have auto focussing?auto focus?

A: CN-E lenses are manual focus only

Q: 4. Is the 35mm a full frame measurement of for the super35 sensor?

A: It will work on a super35 or full frame sensor. True 35mm on a full frame. Will look like a 52mm on a super35.

Q: 5. Does this lens work well with either of the Metabones Speedboosters and MFT/GH5?

A: If you have an MFT mount camera you should be able to use an EF to MFT mount adapter to use this lens. Keep in mind though that this is a fully manual lens, it will not take advanrtage of the electronic communication that a Metabones Smart Adapter offers. Instead I recommend the Mitakon Zhongyi Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Turbo Adapter Mark II instead. It is a manual adapter.https://bhpho.to/2bG2xhx

Q: 6. Will this really cover Full-Frame sensors? Key features states that is does and that it is suitable for 8K Image Capture. I would be using it on my Red Monstro VV & my Red V-Raptor 8K VV Sensors.

A: Yes. 100% the following unit accommodate all you 8k full frame needs.

Q: 7. Is the image correction rectilinear?

A: While the term rectilinear is not used for this lens by Tokina it does offer Aspherical Elements and Super-Low Dispersion Glass which reduces distortion and increases Optical Performance.

Q: 8. How compatable is this lens with the 5D mark IV for stills?

A: This lens can be used for stills. However it will be completely manual, you will have to manually control the focus and adjust the Iris on the lens. You will not be able to control the lens on your camera.

Q: 9. What's the difference between Mark i and mark II of this lens?

A: The Tokina Cinema Vista 16-28mm II T3 Wide-Angle Zoom Lens, features improvements in the physical housing of the lens, offering a solid made cinema housing with precision.

Q: 10. Does this have a front thread? Is so what size?

A: This has a 105mm filter thread.

[Sony E] When I moved over into the Canon Cinema camera line, due to costs, I decided to go with the Rokinon cinema lenses. Initially, I thought they worked great and it was a definite upgrade from my previous setup. However after shooting with these lenses I can't even believe the difference. The color and clarity are unmatched – I even rented other lenses to compare (Zeiss, Xeen) and IMHO these Canon lenses blew them all away. They make skin tones just come to life and are sharp but not overly harsh. Worth every penny!

[1x 1/4"-20] Second to none, will take your production to next level

[112 mm] Think Canon cinema lenses are hype? Think again. This lens is a game changer. I have the 50mm L series f1.2 and this lens blows it away in sharpness, accuracy of focus and several other areas. Best purchase I've made for a while.

[T1.5] I needed something longer than my 55 but shorter than my 85 so this is just right for me. Amazing wide open but I recommend a large production monitor to stay on top of the focus, DoF this shallow is gorgeous but you can't take your eye off it for a second.

[T1.5] My second Meike MFT lens, possibly even better than the first. Nice solid lens. Bokeh is smooth, but unobtrusive, as seen in the two photos from a Panasonic GH5S, one with focus point @ 2.5 meters, the other at 5 meters. Focus scales seem to be more accurate than the Zeiss CP 2 prime I've had for years.

[1x 1/4"-20] The only thing holding this lens back is the weight, but if you're used to using a heavier setup or ok with the lens possibly being heavier than the camera, this is an incredible lens. 16-28 is a nice wider angle range and it covers full frame cameras. Crisp all the way through.

[Full Frame] Excellent quality feel and the sharpness is outstanding. Works well with the Small Rig Mini Matte Box system and Follow Focus. The price is a plus too..
