Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. We currently have a wired Clearcom system. We’d like to add some wireless headsets to that existing system. If we purchase this and the Eartec 4 pack headset this should add that functionality?

A: Yes, you can use this HUB Interface for Clearcom with up to 8 of their ULTRAlite headsets, to add wireless stations to your existing Clearcom hard-wired system.

Q: 2. Will this work with 2 Wire and 4 Wire Clearcom systems?

A: The Eartec HUB Interface for ClearCom Systems (BH # EAHUBINCC) works with ClearCom 2-wire and 4-wire systems.

Q: 3. I need to be able to communicate between instructor and student in tandem seated sailplanes. will the dual-ear Eartec ultralite headset work? What do I need?

A: Not exactly sure what that entails. I used these when filming marching band competitions. We have one person up ontop of the press box and the other on the field. So approximately 70-100 yards of distance. Never a problem. Sounds as clear as talking on the phone.

Q: 4. I already have BH# EAHUB742MXD. which is 7-person with HUB. Now I want to split this system into four head sets for each set. Basically I’m trying to buy another master head set (HUB is expansive). So I can split my 7 person set into 2 x four person sets Do I need a Hub or this master head ? will I have any problem pairing my current remote 3 headsets to this master headset? FYI we will be using these headsets in less than 500ft range Thank you

A: Without a hub you can have up to 5 headsets, as long as one is a master. Anything above 5 users will need a hub. You can run two seperate systems at the same time without crosstalk or interference.

Q: 5. Can a dual ear headset be added to a set of single ear units?

A: You can add a dual ear remote model to a single ear system. Please note the final total count of your system would have to equal either 1 master headset and up to 4 remote headsets, or 1 Hub mini and up to 8 total remote headsets. If you are uncertain about your system, please contact our Pro Audio Department for more information.

Q: 6. What kind of cable is used for its connections? I see 3.5mm, but is that a 3-pole (stereo in and mic out)? Thanks!

A: The connector is 3.5mm TRS, mono in and mic out.

Q: 7. I need replacement earmuffs/earpads for my Eartec UltraLITE sets. What earmuffs are compatible with the Eartect Ultralites?

A: You can purchase Eartec Replacement Leatherette Earpads for UltraLITE Headsets (2-Pack) which are listed as B&H item# EAULEPD. We do currently have the replacement earpads available in stock.

Q: 8. Can the master headset also be a regular one? I want to have one dual ear and single master unit to cover different environments. So if I use the dual ear as the 'master' - can my other 'master' single ear be used as a regular unit? Sorry - bit hard to explain.

A: Yes of course but the two will not be able to talk to each other. Basically, all the remote headsets attached to the dual ear master will not be able to talk to the remote and master of the single ear. Hope that makes sense. You may want to look into getting The HUB. It has two channels. Each channel can have up to 3 remote headsets and you can combine channels if you need to or have them separate. You can also plug a wired headset to the hub for a 7th headset. The HUB can be wireless or wired(takes a battery or wired power). Hope this helps

Q: 9. DO YOU HAVE PARTS EARTEC HEADSET , LIKE MIC?

A: We do carry some replacement accessories such as power supplies, batteries and antennas, however no headset replacement parts are available here at B&H unfortunately.

Q: 10. I have the 4 pack eartec headsets, that work with master headset and 3 slaves. For the hub interface to clearcom, will I also need to buy the Hub? So will I need both the hub and hub interface?

A: Yes, you will need to use the HUB (B&H # EAHUB) and the HUB interface together. The HUB works in the same manner as the master headset you already have, so it replaces the master headset. The HUB can be used with eight wireless UltraLite remote headsets and one wired headset.

[300 Ohms] I work in a community small community theatre that has used Eartec wireless comms for years. They've been adequate, and having wireless comms is nice, but I missed the quality and clear sound that I was used to with ClearCom wired comms. I finally decided to pick up one of these interfaces and run ClearCom to the non-moving positions like light board op, sound op, and stage manager.

It has been a fantastic improvement. The backstage crew and house manager still have the freedom to remain on comms while they move around, while the sound quality for cue calling from the SM to lights and sound has been much better.

[Mono] We use this headset to hook directly to a Panasonic 3800 camera, and it's been working great. Our operators appreciate the light weight and good fit.

[3%] We bought this to use for communication between camera person and director in recording/streaming video of worship services. It is being used with a 1990 era Telex intercom system. It does a fantastic job of reducing ambient noise and the microphone produces clear sound. Much better than the headset it replaced. So good we bought a second one. An excellent product.

[Plastic] This thing is a game-changer. I've been doing live sports productions for almost 10 years and never knew about this but it solves a MAJOR problem in that wireless (clear com/telex) headsets are EXPENSIVE! You can get an eartec set and this interface and then use your WIRED clear com and suddenly expand your capabilities heavily. This thing is incredible and I will be ordering more of them to use with other comm systems that we use doing sports productions around our state.

[-43 dB] These headsets are quite solidly and firmly built. The double ears make for a good snug fit and keeps loud music from seeping into your ears. Clarity is excellent though the mics pick up a little too much background noise for my taste. Still an excellent product though and it should be good to go for years and years.

[-43 dB] I work at a church and alot of people complained that our telex headsets where uncomfortable after long periods of time. I bought a couple of these and have be very impressed with the quality. They arnt great for moving around alot in though because they can slip off your head because they are not that tight of a fit.

[2.2 Kilohms] These are comfortable and sound great. The microphone is excellent at rejecting off axis noise. I have used clear-com, portacom, and telex systems. These sound better. I use them in live concert setting and have no problem communicating with my camera operators. Just a great deal all around.

[3%] These headsets are comfortable and make live productions in noisy environments much easier. You can still hear the band playing in the background but you can clearly hear the director having a nutty on the new camera operator. Assume your camera is always live!
