A built-in USB Type-A cable connects the pedals to your computer to control compatible ikan teleprompters via PrompterPro software. The device's curved design allows for both right- and left-foot operation of the three pedals, the left to slow down the scroll speed of text, the center to stop or start the script, and the right to speed up the scroll speed.

Q: 1. what does the software come on?

A: The software comes on a CD.

Q: 2. Does this prompter come with all the hardware shown in the pics?

A: This is what's in the box: ikan PT1200 12" Portable Teleprompter Kit, 12" LCD Monitor, Adjustable Glass Frame, Scientific Grade Glass, Nylon Zippered Hood with Fabric Lens Cover, Set of Two 15mm Rods, Height-Adjustable Baseplate, Quick-Release Plate, Reusable Storage Foam, Prompting Software (Mac/Win), Limited 1-Year Warranty

Q: 3. Does this display mirror the input source, or is that handled by prompter software? Looking to buy this as a replacement for an older unit.

A: The ikan 12" Teleprompter Monitor for PT1200 is a reversing display. There is a dedicated button to flip the mage horizontal, vertical or both.

Q: 4. I'd like to be able to feed video to the prompter via a Blackmagic Design ATEM TV Studio HD switcher (Aux output). Does the monitor give me the ability to adjust resolution so the doesn't look squeezed?

A: Unfortunately, the PT1200 is designed only to work under its native resolution of 1024 x 768.

Q: 5. Will this prompter work well with a Canon C100? It looks about the right size.

A: Yes, thats what Camera I use.Its a nice prompter.

Q: 6. I am concerned about the 12 screen being too small to use comfortably. My client will be 12' from the camera. Our studio Teleprompter is 17 and 4x3, but it is too hard to take in the field. Should I move up to the 15 ?

A: The 12 screen will be small to use from a 12' distance from the camera. A 15 looks more practical. ThanksSwami Bhajanananda.

Q: 7. can i use my canon XA 11 camcorder with this teleprompter?

    A: Yes.

Q: 8. What is the brightness of this monitor? How many nits?

A: The brightness, according to ikan's website, is 350 cd/m2.

Q: 9. Does this Prompter work with a Sony PDW-150?

A: Yes, the PT1200 Teleprompter works with the Sony PXW-150.

Q: 10. Is the image reversible?

A: We're afraid not. The PT3700 does not offer a screen flip, that has to be done in the software that would normally drive the teleprompter. However the ikan 15" Teleprompter Monitor for PT3100E and PT3500, B&H # IKPT3100EM, does have a flip button right on the monitor to reverse the image. https://bhpho.to/2Bw4IiH

[1.185 lb] This is a really easy to read teleprompter. I've been in newscasting for 20 years, and have used a variety of prompters, but I find this one extremely user-friendly. The only trouble we have had has been with the remote. It seems to stick a little bit. But other than that, I do recommend this equipment!

    [15.4 x 6.5 x 2"] This is an awesome plate. Life changing!

I tried saucers, bowels, an even cups, but it wasn't until I used this plate the my camera stopped falling off!

[15.4 x 6.5 x 2"] I was a little skeptical about hanging a prompter off of any lens, but the device is pretty light, even with the phone mounted on it. There's a cover for the front glass and the lens hole, so you don't need to worry about knocking it and breaking it. As others have indicated, it is plastic, but that makes sense to conserve weight. It does not appear cheap. There's a big durable foam block in the box, which you could use for transport if you wanted to. It also has a screwdriver to attach the phone mount. I'm using the largest filter ring, 82mm, and it goes on smooth.

[15.4 x 6.5 x 2"] I have a years-old teleprompter for a tablet, but I use a mirrorless camera as a webcam at my desk, so to record videos in closer quarters, I needed something to attach to my mirrorless camera that was also small enough not to consume lots of extra space and require moving my desk around. This product is extremely well designed. I was initially concerned that it literally hangs from the lens, but it's incredibly lightweight and doesn't cause the stress to the lens mount or camera mount that I had feared. When working at close-ish distances, the use of a smaller prompter is good, as you don't want your eyes darting back and forth across wide rows of text. At just three feet away (in my webcam setup with a wide lens on the camera) reading a script from my smartphone produces a perfectly acceptable level of lens eye contact..
The remote control is the weak spot, but still functional. Just cheaply made and poorly labeled. But ultimately, I was able to open the box, set everything up, write a script, load the script, and shoot a video with it within the span of an hour. While the remote tends to speed up or slow down in coarse increments, the trigger button to pause and restart the scroll means that it's easy to play at--or just above--the perfect speed, and pause it along the way as needed.
