[Cage] For the money I can't complain much. I don't find the top handle that useful so I think that could have been an add on and lowered the price even more. Same with the wooden handle, don't need it so would have liked the option to buy without it. The only alternative for cameras with a battery grip is the much more expensive Wooden Camera/Manfrotto tall cage, so I am still very happy with this cage and it's amazing value.

[Cage] This is my first cage so I can’t compare it to others but it does the job on my t5i with a battery grip.

[Aluminum] For the price it doesnt get much better than this. I cant envision myself ever spending $200+ on something like this after buying this product. The build quality is fantastic - absolutely no loose points or any wobbling once you take your time to get it adjusted to your setup. Connection points everywhere, all the hardware fits perfectly and the tools you need to set up are included, although I was provided with an additional alan wrench that doesnt appear to fit anywhere as well as extra hardware that I cannot figure out what it was intended for - not that I think I will need it seeing as the construction is quite sturdy and the materials seem high quality. The real test will be how well it holds up over time. 


PROS: Build quality is fantastic. two different size side-rods for different camera sizes, the other can be used in the 15mm rod mount on the handle. Minimal hardware


CONS: Wood is low-quality. Might be heavier than some prefer. Not easy to just pop the camera in and out of the cage, definitely requires a bit of time for setup/breakdown

[Aluminum] I own a Canon XC15 and doesn't really have a special cage made for it. I purchased it trusting it would fit and it did.

[Cage] This is the best cage for gh6 in my opinion but also the most expensive cheese grater style out there. But it makes my handler camera shooting a breeze with multiple attachments. The base plate is a bit awkward with the small rig rod attachments but it's fixed with a few more accessories. The side strap is strong and classy. I bought the top handle too which is another engineering marvel. This has certainly increased my versatility on long shoots and instant grip change with the Zacuto handle handling like a nunchaku. Great ergonomics but I wish the cage came with extra screws. Mine fell out and it was a pain replacing it. Anyways. Great job guys! This review is after two years of owning it.

[Aluminum] After dealing with disappointment from how much the SmallRig Black Mamba cage flexed, I knew I needed a more robust cage for my GH6. Through my research, I’ve found this to be the GH6 cage with the most points of contact on the camera body (two M2.5 screws on both side strap loops, and a 1/4” 20 on the base). Construction is sturdy, as it’s made of thick machined pieces. The top of the cage is essentially a 1/4” 20 cheese plate, and offers a NATO rail for top handle mounting. I’ve tested this cage with the LUMIX DMW-XLR1 while mounting a Zacuto top handle, and it’s a narrow fit, but I can confirm the cage is compatible. The left side also features a NATO rail, ARRI rosette, and a 3/8” 16 with locating pins, but there’s no mounting coverage on the right side, which is kept open to allow handheld operation on the camera body. I would have preferred to have the right side enclosed too, so a side grip could be mounted, but that’s a small issue. Front-to-back oriented Arca plate on the bottom of the cage is much better for tripod configurations and works perfectly with Zacuto’s ACT baseplate. Hands down the best cage for this camera.

[Cage] I just bought it and I've only used it for 3 shootings and I already love it. You immediately feel the difference between recording with your naked camera and with the cage on. The camera becomes more heavy and stable. You can shoot at low angles without any problem thanks to the top handle. It is very versatile. Everything can be reconfigured to use it on the opposite side, except the wooden handle, of course, because it is designed to fit the right hand, although you could get used to using it backwards and grabbing it with the left hand to take advantage of both the camera grip and the one from the cage (which is what I did). You can also make your own DIY wooden handle and replace it. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

[Aluminum] Very well made may want to use lock washers on handle to ensure more stable use.
