Mount your RED V-RAPTOR camera and ensure it is set to 15mm LWS standard height when mounted on a MōVI Pro gimbal with this MōVI Pro Riser for 15mm Baseplate & RED V-RAPTORfrom Bright Tangerine. The durable aluminum riser is designed to be used with the LeftField Baseplate core and the MōVI Pro Camera Plate B4002.1061.

The plate features a quick release design and includes six screws to mount it onto the separately available baseplate. It also has an integrated safety lock to prevent plate movement or disconnection.

This interchangeable riser combines with the LeftField Universal 15mm LWS Baseplate and MōVI Pro Camera Plate B4002.1061 to set the RED V-RAPTOR at the correct height for 15mm LWS standards. It is not compatible with other MōVI Pro camera plates.

The quick release clamp enables fast transitions between the baseplate and gimbals.

The dovetail is secured using a 4mm hex key that enables the operator to securely tighten down the clamp with a higher force than a lever. There is also no risk of levers being knocked during operation.

Q: 1. Are there mounting holes on the bottom for attaching a quick release plate? Or do you have to use it with a Tilta dovetail?

A: There are two 1/4" and one 3/8" threads on the bottom along with the Arri style clamp. Pro tip. The Arri style baseplate and dovetail can be tricky to mount and slide. Do NOT apply oil or any lubrication. This will only gather dirt and make the sliding worse. Instead, make sure the pieces are scrupulously clean. Then it will work as intended.

Q: 2. Does this plate slide onto the dovetail or can you drop it on?

A: The 8Sinn 15mm Baseplate + Riser Plate I + 10" ARRI Dovetail Plate Bundle's base plate must slide onto the ARRI Dovetail.

Q: 5. What counterweight will work with this?

A: There aren't very many options for using counterweights on the Bright Tangerine Riser Kit for 15mm Baseplate for DJI RS 2/RS 3 and RED KOMODO. It's usually always front heavy and needing weight in the back that can be added with access to a camera cage. Q: 6. Will this work for the Komodo as well?

A: The Tilta Advanced I/O Module for RED V-RAPTOR will only work with the RED V-Raptor.

Q: 7. If this was used on an arri dovetail plate with safety stopper, will it work with it or is it too shallow for the stopper?

A: The 8Sinn 15mm Baseplate + Riser Plate I Bundle would be able to work with an ARRI standard dovetail with safety depending on the location of the safety. If the safety is toward the center, the baseplate may be too high to be stopped by the safety.

Q: 8. Is this one compatible with DMSC1 cameras?

Q: 9. Thanks for answering. I also have the DSMC2 side handle. I need to ask then: Can you rotate the plate and reattach the rod clamps so that the dovetail locking clamp is on the opposite side of the side handle? In the first 2 images it appears as though it is on the media bay side. Or will the body then block the clamp?

A: We are not aware of this unit being able to be used in the opposite direction. You will need to attach it to the camera as shown.

Q: 10. Will this plate fit GH4?

[Aluminum] I use this with my Red Gemini and it works great for keeping a low profile in a low weight solution for dovetail applications going from tripod to gimbal to shoulder set ups. I use this with a 300mm (12 in) arri dovetail on the tripod to get good balance and it slides onto the wooden camera unified VCT wedge plate (B&H # WO223300) for shoulder work. This is the best solution out there for keeping the camera low on the shoulder or light on the tripod with lower center of gravity with 15mm lw rods. My only change would be the screws that come with it need to be lower profile to be even with the bottom of the camera. I switched those out for some WC low profile screws. 5

[0.22 lb] I don't understand all the negative reviews on this item. Our Komodo has been out on dozens of shoots, including multiple tv shows, music videos, commercials and feature films, and we've never had a problem with the baseplate. It feels very solid and works well. Yes, there isn't a safety pin to holds the dovetail in, but I generally find them to be irritating anyway. Just make sure to tighten it up properly and it's extremely solid. 5

[Aluminum] I use this for my RED V-Raptor. Probably would work well on the Komodo as well or any other box style camera. This is very well built and the price is fantastic compared to competitors. I use this for handheld use. I can't even see needing a cage (which they don't have for my camera yet) with this setup. The one with the riser provides extra clearance for larger lenses and a follow focus. 5

[0.22 lb] I'm very surprised of how well designed this kit is. My main reason to buy this over the Tilta one is the open ventilation on the top, instead of the grid that comes in the Tilta and partially block the exhaust area of the camera. Everything else is nicely designed and executed. Great kit. 5

[0.22 lb] I had originally bought the standard komodo baseplate from Bright Tangerine but realized it only had one screw and would twist on the camera showing off alignment of my matte box etc. This DJI version has tabs that fit into the base of the komodo and prevent twisting. It does cost more but is so much better. 5
