A: The above Metabones Nikon G Lens to Micro Four Thirds Lens Mount Adapter is designed to allow you to connect the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX Lens to Micro Four Thirds mount cameras. It is not compatible with Sony NEX cameras. If you need to connect the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G DX Lens to a Sony NEX E-mount camera, you would need to purchase the Metabones Nikon G Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter (Matte Black), B&H # MENFGEBM1.

A: The metabones prevents the camera from communicating with the lens.So no, the camera doesn't tell you the aperture reading and will always read as 0. Therefore, you always have to use other means (zebras) to not over expose.You also can't achieve a desired aperture to control DOF (such as 2.8) because, again, the camera can't report the aperture.I haven't taken still pictures so I'm not sure how this affects that mode.

[Brass] Well built, zero wiggle at either end, aperture control well damped. Work's fine with my Nikon AF-S lens (aperture and manual focus), but does not work with my Nikon AF-P (manual focus) lens. I contacted metabones to find out the reason but no response for 4 weeks now, they say on their website they wont respond to questions which they have on their faq, but couldn't find anywhere indicating non compatibility with Nikon AF-P (manual focus). After speaking with bandhphoto they confirmed the new af-p lens don't work with this adapter, so I asked BandHPhoto to update their description so other customer could be made aware of this but doesn't look like they have, hence why im writing this review. Not a deal breaker, i only have 1 af-p lens, everything else is af-s. 5

[0.58 lb] Works perfect with my Nikon lenses and the BMCC. Click less F stop control. Very sturdy and fits tight. No noticeable negative effects in images at any focal length. 5

[Brass] This allows me to use my collection of old Nikon manual lenses as well as my new Nikon G lenses on my Panasonic GH4. My auto lenses however are reduced to manual operation only. Not so great for fast action photos or video. Works great for a video interview or something that doesn't move in and out of focus.The idea is to use the lenses at wide open when possible. With the GH4 my nikon 70 to 200 mm 2.8 doubles the focal length effectively. One problem with the GH4 is the tripod mount doesn't clear the panasonic YAHG attachment, but it can be easily removed. 5

[Brass] I have some cheap adapters from * and other from Fotodiox, they are just fine.But this adapter, Metabones, worth every penny. The construction is amazing and there is not Play between the Lens and the Camera. Very good. 5

[Brass] great product my old adapter broke I call B&H Photo ask them but I could use to replace my old gear they probably told me about this I ordered it got it in three days in love it it even helps with shake on longer lenses. price is pretty good as well I would definitely recommend this if you have an MTF and like to use Nikon lenses 5
