It is an automatic tube that is able to communicate all electronic functions from the lens to camera including autofocus and auto-exposure. No other optical components are added, so the image will preserve the original optical properties of the lens.

The lens transforms into a macro lens while maintaining its optical quality. By placing distance between your camera body and lens, focusing distance is shortened and the effect of magnifying your subject is created.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the mount made of metal?

A: Yes, it's made of metal. It works well with my camera and lenses.

Q: 2. Does it retain IS function?

A: I do not know. It appears to, but I use the extension tubes on the tripod most of the time due to the shallow depth of field.

Q: 3. Does this work with canon 24-105mm or 50mm 1.8?

A: I only tried to put it on the 100mm lens and it didn't fit, so I retuned it and bought the canon model do $84, it works great. My advice is to go with the quality product.

Q: 4. With this device, what improvement is there to the close focus ratio? Discuss the pros and cons?

A: This is a. good little tool for the price- It has no elements so it relies on the clarity of the lens glass entirely without clarity loss. Im not sure precisely how it alters the close focus ratio in terms of a ratio, but of course it i creasess it because otherwise you wouldnt be able to focus on the object in a macro way--- if your question is, does it distort or alter the look of the focal length my answer would be no, but my experience is that it facilotates different looks with different lenses (tested 28-200 and zooms as well), my advice would be to experiment--- The only con I sont believe is any fault of the device--- that is that you generally pick/up a limited depth of field inherent to the close macro effect, which you may or may not like working with or around....

Q: 5. Will these extension tubes work with a Canon mirrorless camera (e.g., EOS R) and Tamron 90mm lens?

A: Natively, these would only properly mount to EF/EF-S systems and lenses. However, you could use these with the EF-RF adapter, with potentially some loss of autofocus reliability.

Q: 6. Hi,Does it fit with canon 60D and a tamron macro 90mm ?regards

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Auto Macrio Extension Tube Kit for Canon EF and EF-S Lenses is compatible with the Canon EOS 60D and Tamron EF mount macro 90mm lens.

Q: 7. Will i still have access to manual focus and will i still have access to aperture and will i still have access to ISO?

A: Yes. You can set your lens to manual focus. You will have control of your aperture and ISO. They work great!

Q: 8. Hello. Will they fit on the nifty fifty, canon 50mm 1.8 STM lens? And my Canon 6d?

A: Yes it goes well.

Q: 9. Hi I need adaptor for camera sony fs7 to used lens Canon 70/200 ef f2.8 usm ii

A: These are not lens adapters. They are extension rings for Canon lenses.

Q: 10. Will this set work with Canon mirrorless (ie., EOS R body) combined with Tamron lenses?

A: Unfortunately no but you can use these instead: https://bhpho.to/3p3hiNe And: https://bhpho.to/3p1tkXe

[Aluminum] These extension tubes are a great alternative for the real macro lens, which will cost much more. One of the disadvantages is that you won't be able to focus at further distances and infinity. But it's not because of an actual Fotodiox tube. It's because of the physics of ALL extension macro tubes. Since the lens is moved further away from the sensor/film, you'll get a much closer focusing distance along with a limited focusing capability. If you're looking for an affordable way of doing close=up macro photos without compromising the picture quality, those extension tubes are the best way to go without spending hundreds of dollars on real macro lenses. Since there's no glass inside those tubes, the quality of the picture will be determined by the lens you use.

[13 mm] These macro extension tubes work well. I have not had any issues. They are a bit tight in the EF mount for cannot, but this is not really an issue, more just an observation. They have connection so that auto-alerature and auto-focus work flawlessly. They will work on either a crop sensor or a full frame.

[13 mm] I can not find anything to complain about with these extension tubes. They do the job they are intended to do perfectly, with no wiggle created between the lens/body. Of course, there is no glass to worry about so optical clarity isn't an issue. Aperture controls still work fine, although I can't speak for focus. I'm not really sure why you would want auto focus when doing macro work with an extension tube anyway :).

[Canon EF] The FotodioX Pro Macro Extension Tube is well built, better than I expected even. I purchased the 31mm tube and if I was able to do it over again I would have bought the 24mm instead. The 31mm works great with my 50mm prime lens, and would assume it would work on lenses with longer focal lengths. What the 31mm tube does not do is work on lenses with wider/shorter focal lengths. I find that the minimum focus distance is too close (literally within the length of the lens itself) and cannot be used. This does not detract at all from the value or quality of the tube though, there is a reason there are varying lengths available.

[0.16 lb] I use these extension tubes on with a Canon 400mm 5.6L for photographing hummingbirds at close ranges. These extension tubes are well made and keep autofocus in really tough scenarios.
