An ultrawide Leica L-mount prime, the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens Leica Loffers incredible imaging performance from corner to corner, with a large maximum aperture that makes it ideal for use in low-light environments, particularly under dark skies where its new features are especially useful. Always an excellent choice for landscape and architecture, this lens is equipped with newly updated functions especially useful for astrophotographers.

Combining an optical design with in-camera corrections that keep distortion under control, this lens offers an extremely well-controlled sagittal coma flare that yields pin-point stars from edge to edge. Additionally, a new Manual Focus Lock (MFL) switch disables the focus ring, ensuring that focus never changes, even after hours of shooting under chilly, dark skies. The lens has also been developed to accept 82mm front filters, a rarity on ultrawide primes, and another unique feature includes a rear filter holder, which accommodates sheet filters for various creative effects.

  • Petal-shaped lens hood helps to reduce lens flare when working in strong lighting conditions and offers some protection to the front element of the lens.
  • 82mm front filter threads and rear filter holder for sheet-type filters.
  • Curved lip at the front of the lens keeps an optional lens heater from slipping in front of the lens.
  • Brass bayonet mount for ensured precision and durability.
  • Compatible with optional UD-11 USB Dock for Leica L, which enables fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.

[10.9 x 6 x 5.9"] Other than vignetting, this lens is a monumental step forward in 20mm lens technology! I also wish the lens hood were a little tiny bit smaller in diameter so it wouldn't be such a tight squeeze in my custom fit case previously configured to hold six A7R Mark IVa cameras and one A1, all with prime lenses mounted and with grips ready to grab and start shooting, all in a smaller case than a typical big backpack, small enough to fit into an ordinary fold up wagon and leave room for a basket of flowers and other props, plus lights!

[11, Rounded] Purchased this lens for astro-video work. The Sigma 14mm 1.4 definitely is brighter than the Sony 14mm 1.8. For time exposure, it's not that big of a deal but for video I'll take any light I can get. Perfect lens for astro work, especially auroral real time video using the Sony ZV-E1, FX3 or A7SIII.

[f/1.4] There haven't been a lot of reviews yet of the newer DG DN 20mm f1.4 Art lens for L mount. Yes it is expensive, but matches Lumix full frame cameras perfectly. I am a regular B&H customer, but this lens was sourced here i n Canada.
The 20mm with the ridge for an astrophotography dew heater is so good as to be a value proposition. It's sharp wide open, but I chose a test sample image taken @ f2.
If for architecture, such wide lenses must be held dead level to prevent vertical lines converging. The 24mm lens in the series is an option, with all the same features less the heater ridge.

[Full-Frame] I think the photos speak for themselves. First outing with this lens to Idaho. Sony A7 IV body. 20 sec. exposure time. Amazing results. If you want to do this type of photography, this lens has no peer.

[Full-Frame] The fact is I've tired of waiting for the Leica Super APO Summicron-SL 21mm to become available so I tried the Sigma 20mm on my SL2. The image I've attached was shot at f/5.6, ISO 100 in DNG so no in camera corrections. Colors are rich and accurate, contrast is what I expect from a raw image on my SL2. As a well known YouTube reviewer has said many times 99% of the images from this lens will impress most of us 99% of the time. Give it a try!

[L-Mount] What else is there to say? The Sigma 20mm f1.4 Art is an ultra-fast, ultra-wide, ultra-well-built lens. The auto focus performs very well on the Lumix s5ii, and the flat front element allows for standard filters to be used.

[11, Rounded] Just received the lens so no time for full evaluation. I have had the HSM 20mm for Canon and have used on Sont A7r4 with Metabones adapter. I have enjoyed the HSM lens for use in low light but used sparingly due to weight and fear of damaging front element during casual use. I bought the DG,DN lens because I figured I would get to use it more often but did not consider the improvement in photo IQ or video performance. I saw a couple of reviews comparing Sony 1.8 stating the Sony was a little sharper and I was not expecting a large increase in the IQ over old HSM. I think I was wrong. So far with only about 100 test images, this lens appears to be a definite improvement over the HSM. New Lens also much better for video since no adapter needed. Very fast, accurate focusing improves IQ as well. Very impressed. Very happy so far. Plan to use new lens a lot especially in low light. Kudos to B&H for super-fast delivery!!
