Capture nighttime still images and video at three different frame rates with the Night Owl Optics NOXM50-DG 3x Digital Night Vision Monocularfrom Night Owl Optics. The monocular uses an adjustable high-intensity infrared beam to enable visibility in complete darkness and create black-and-white images in any lighting environment. The lens also has a 3x magnification and a 2x digital zoom that combine for up to 6x total magnification of longer-distance visibility.

The three frame rates are 30 fps, 15 fps, and 8 fps, recorded at 30MB per minute to a microSD card. The two CR123A batteries provide up to 150 minutes of continuous use at the high-intensity setting.

[9.8' / 3 m] The IGen 20/20 does just what it advertises. It certainly matches the generation 2 model and in some aspects surpasses it with its border to border clarity and vision without the IR emitter on a full moon night. [microSD] I use this NV on the Arizona Border doing Civilian Border Watches and it performs very well. I have used Gen 1,2, &3 and I really prefer the Digital. You don't have to worry about bright lights, and the black & white mode shows better detail to me. The auto IR mode works great. In 1/4 moonlight and above you can turn the IR off. 5

[38mm f/1] Highly sensitive and the exposure control (FPS) a real plus. Battery compartment will close only with difficulty over Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries, since Alkaline are slightly less in diameter, and the tolerances on the battery compartment are tight. Unbeatable for the price. 5

[-4 to +2] I cannot tell you how amazing this monocular is. I am speechless. It is worth 3 times more for what you get. Just buy it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you who ever made this. Also have to say B&H are super professional. Enquired about monocular and got a reply that same day and also a invoice set up if I wanted to purchase it. I was so impress dealing with B&H. [microSD] excellent night vision for the price!!! It does go thru some batteries quickly, so pick up extras to take with you, but AA's are easy to come by. 5

[LCD] For the price and the image quality this unit is pretty darn good. Defeintily better than anything Gen 2 and comprable to some Gen 3's. You will need the IR in most cases but the ability to adjust the frame rate is an additional bounus. I've not heard back on its operating range from the company so I'm not sure how cold and heat may affect its perfomance. The only thing I see needed is a way to hook a wrist or neck strap to this unit, but since it had a bipod mount this can be remedied with the addition of a camera d-ring for the bipod mount. Included case can be mounted on a belt or other gear. 5
