[90x] Yes it's an expensive cable, but for us it's worth it since it allows us to use the Canon ZSD-300D and FPD-400D demands on our CN-E 18-80mm and 70-200mm cine servo lenses. This combo gives us a (relatively) affordable broadcast style setup with large sensor cameras like the Blackmagic Pockets and URSAs.


Note that you may need to supply 12v power to these lenses to enable focus control, but it depends on the camera. I found that it works fine without additional power on our Pocket 6K Pro and URSA Broadcast G2 with the native EF mount, but on the Pocket 4K with an EF-MFT adaptor it needed the 12v for the focus to work.

[Servo] I am a huge fan of this lens for field docu work. Great all around piece of glass for wildlife and longer lens applications while retaining a lightweight kit one person can carry tripod and sticks.

[Servo] I take a ton of video for marketing purposes of construction work across the country. Im also always shooting stills. The XA40 - which is very similar but 5 years old I think is amazing. The zoom on this thing is UNREAL - so handy. The video quality is excellent, autofocus is remarkable and low level light capability work is very helpful.... people love the footage. I exclusively shoot a little wide in 4k and punch in to compose almost every shot.

I really like the XLR and TRS audio inputs. I can rig for an interview or a short shotgun and run with this. It is perfect for the kind of jobsite work I do both indoors and outdoors.

I have many cameras including ones that shoot in higher level formats and raw but the if you want clean, easy to get footage that you dont have to fuss with this is great. I have done two projects with the XA-60, the XA-40 still works great and I am very, very happy with the result. There are some differences but it did great on the first projects.

The dual recording is so calming. I dont really ever have problems with my SD cards but it has happened and having that backup in the camera is very nice.

[2/3" (16:9)] As a documentary cinematographer, I'm always on the lookout for the ideal lens that can handle any situation. Traveling light is essential since we typically operate with a small crew. Previously, I used the Canon 15.5-47mm and 30-105mm lenses and often found myself stressed about selecting the most suitable lens for unpredictable documentary scenes. I was tempted to pickup a used 17-120 given the low price point, but when renting one, I found the 17mm just not wide enough for certain situations and often switched back to my 15.5-47mm. The new 15-120mm lens has been a revelation. The additional width at the wide end is transformative, yet it still offers significant telephoto capability. This lens handles everything from vérité-style shooting and B-roll to interviews, providing comprehensive coverage.

The build quality and weight of the lens are ideal for shoulder mounted shooting, and it performs well even when shooting from the hip. I use it with my Canon C300 Mark III, and it's safe to say I've found a perfectly balanced rig that's ergonomically satisfying and well-suited for my needs. I recommend having the lens calibrated at a Canon Cine Service Center. While it arrives in spec from B&H, the Canon techs can further calibrate its center sharpness. This lens is a game changer for documentary filmmaking.

[Yes] I shoot wildlife most of the time. I was a professional videographer but retired 14 years ago. So I know good camcorders from bad. I am completely satisfied with this camcorder. I was out shooting eagles in flight this morning, the results are awesome.

[Servo] I've had this lens for a while now and can say it's my favorite lens. Canon fixed the biggest issue I had which was a warm color shift on the 17-120. No color shifts on this lens! Flip on the built in extender and the lens can be ready for full frame. It's really the perfect lens for reality, sports, doc and most everything else.
