Q: 1. Does this work for the 300D Mark ll? They look very similar.

A: If the use the same amount of matching pins they will work

Q: 2. Does each light use (6) AA batteries or only 2?

A: Each light would take 6 batteries

Q: 3. hey, the overview says that the light is twice as bright when plugged into AC power. Does that mean it gets the equivalent power of a 300w light when plugged into AC or does that mean that the light normally runs at a 75w when battery powered with a max of 150w when plugged into AC? Thanks!

A: The 150w equivalent is when it is plugged in to AC.On batteries it is like it is the equivalent of a 75w light.

Q: 4. Does rechargeable NiMH batteries can work on these lights?

A: Yes, you can use rechargeable AA batteries like these, https://bhpho.to/3h0QxY6 And you will need a charger and this is some options, https://bhpho.to/3doQQto

Q: 5. Can these mount on any normal light stand post?

A: These LED units can mount onto any standard light stand which has a 5/8 stud and terminates to a 1/4 male thread.

Q: 6. Could you use these for indoor location portrait and fashion stills?

A: These would not be ideal for those uses.

Q: 7. does this come with a case?

A: No, the Litepanels Studio X2 Bi-Color LED Fresnel Lighting does not include a case. However, a case such as the Pelican 0340 Cube Case with Foam (Black), BH # PE0340CCFB would accommodate the fixture. https://bhpho.to/3KYHHr6

A: Please see attached link for a single light https://bhpho.to/3s0bbKb

Q: 9. Do these light give a noticeable green or purple tint like many LED do? Please share links of samples! Thanks!

A: The Caliber lights do have very good color and the CRI rating is 91.We do have on line a hands-On-Review. And that might be helpful the link for that is http://bhpho.to/1QwCn8Y.

Q: 10. How does the throw / power on this light compare to the Dedolight DLH-4 150 Watt Spotlight?

A: According to Litepanels, the Caliber LED would have the equivalent output of a 150w tungsten lamp.

[LCD] First of all you can use Sony NPF batteries to power this light. You need a NPF battery plate with 12vdc out. It runs about 3 hours in full power. Rechargeable AA batteries also work great but half the light power (runs about an hour and 20min). It is a perfect size and weight fresnel light. You can shape the light with barn doors if it is used at 50 to 75 degree. It doesn’t get hot so you can run it all day.

[3200K] Love this little light! Fresnel lens, spot or flood, just wish it was bicolor so I don't have to worry about gels and filters.

[CRI 90] I love this light. Bright, accurate, versatile. You don't notice any fan noise. Looking forward to using this on more jobs as this is my first step into LED lighting, finally. Been using an ARRI 750 kit for years and their great but this light is a whole other level.

[Yes] So, I only got my unit recently, and to be honest, I haven't used it on a job yet. I'm a network news photographer (it's video, even though the title is photographer), in the business for over 30 years (and I look it). I have been a fan of Litepanels for a long time. I started with the original 1x1s, which were so great for indoor use, but just didn't have much punch for outside. Then came the Astra 6x bi-color, big improvement, but just enough for a cloudy day outside, and not if the background was in full sun. The Astra bi-focus got me there, kind of. I love the bi-focus, and when you punch it in, two of them can compete with a full sun background, but to be honest, the color shifts a bit all the way in. I needed a light that could really match the sun, and still have good skin tones. I am not a fan of Apurture, for many reasons, especially for the kind of work I do. They are big, heavy, cumbersome, and you can't just power them from regular camera batteries at full power. I had both the 600d, which had good punch, but I traded it for a 600c, because I prefer the light quality of RGB lights. Finally, the Gemini Hard came out! Two of these close enough to the talent could compete with a hard sun background (if you remove the diffuser) and the skin tones it produces are beautiful. Now at this point I already owned 14 Astras, 4 Geminis 1x1, one 600C, and of course, a few smaller lights. I felt my life was complete. But then, the Gemini 2x1 Hard went on sale here at B&H, and I had to try it. Wow! It put everything else to shame! Sure, it's kind of big and heavy, but the output! I already had the dual battery power plates that I use when I travel with the Gemini Hard (as I can't bring my core 293s on a plane, but two 150s will do the job). And two of those 293s will power this new 2x1 for over 45 minutes, at 100% power! I'm going to get a second one. I think by then, my life will really be complete. ;-) ps. at work my nickname is Lenny the light.

[CRI 90] Almost the same amount of light as a S60, and all the same features at half the weight.

Well built.

[3200K] Portable , powerful and extremely portable. Great piece of interview equipment , love the size. Had to add a couple of light stands. I use the lights most of the time on the AA batteries, makes it easy and convenient .

[Fresnel] If you appreciate a small, light, focusable, dimmable 0-100% back-light/rim/hair light you'll be like me -- I bought another set, a few more used, and an array of 1/4 20 mounting accessories (which was never part of my kit before). I can rig these lights in ways I couldn't rig/mount heavier lights before. I can quickly add splash or a bit of tone without trips to the truck. Option to run on batteries at 50% power? I suppose I could have a reason, but would probably just use an external battery for 100%. I thought the little legs silly, until they were perfect for a job. Now have all sorts of 1/4 20 mounts for all sorts of mounting solutions.

[50,000 Hours] I bought this Sola 4+ fresnel for use as a back light in a typical 3 point lighting scenario. It fits the bill quite well I think. I considered the ARRI L5 for this because it is bi-color, but my budget didn't quite allow for it, so the Sola 4+ was the next best option. The Sola 4+ is light enough to place on a boom without excessive counterweights and allows for easy rigging. The fixture is mostly plastic which gives it a bit of a cheap feel however. The barn doors have plastic hinges but the doors are aluminum. Considering the plastic makes it light weight, which is a huge bonus if you are travelling with this fixture, I think it is a reasonable trade off. The focus range allows fine tuning and quite a narrow spot. Fan is quite enough that most audio situations would not pick it up. The fixture has a small form factor but it packs a pretty good punch for its size. Because it is only daylight balanced, I purchased the 5 piece CTO pack which includes a opal frost diffusion. Not sure I will use the DMX function but it's nice to know it's there incase I do. Overall, I think this light is a pretty good value but it needs to be handled and packed carefully to avoid possible damage. I gave the Sola 4+ five stars because it met my expectations based on the advertising and published specs. Now Litepanels needs to make a bi-color version of this fresnel to truly perfect it!

[50,000 Hours] Well I left a review back in 2017 after I bought it. Im still quite happy with the Fixture. I recently tested the CRI using my Sekonic C-700, the results hovered around 94.0 to 95.0 depending on temperature. I would say Litepanels general claim of a High CRI rings true but the output is no where near a 575w HMI. There are cheaper lights on the market now like the Aputure Storm 300d II that do output the equivalent of the 575w HMI, however I have not tested the CRI as of yet.

[Fresnel] My original aputure 300ii cord went out and I left my other cord in another state and it's impossible to find aputure accessory replacement cord. This one works perfect for 300dii and 300x
