Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What hood can I purchase to fit this lens?

A: Because wide angle lenses will vignette easily with most hoods, the hoods that are available are vestigial. Here is a good one for the lens. Sensei 62mm Wide Angle Rubber Lens Hood B&H # SELHRW62. You will find that if you are having flare problems, it will be best if you try to flag the offending light at the source rather than at the lens.

Q: 2. Can this cover be used on smaller lenses as well, or can this only be used for large telephoto lens?

A: You would be able to use this cover on smaller lenses, but it would not be a snug/perfect fit.

Q: 3. Do work with d 750?

A: Yes, it is compatible. Do note that you would have to set the lens' focal length and maximum aperture in the Non-CPU Lens Data menu in the camera's Menu. This will allow the camera's metering to properly work with the lens, and for you to control the lens' aperture using the aperture ring built into the lens.

Q: 4. Does it work with the Full frame sensor of the Z7? I mean: does it make good and full use of the sensor? Thank you very much in advance

A: Yes it is a full frame lens.

Q: 5. I want to keep my tele lens (Nikon 400mm, f/2.8 and Nikon 800mm, f/5.6) with Nikon body 4DS and 5D. Will it serve the purpose?

A: I do not have the 800mm lens; however, my 600mm Nikon with D800 attached fits nicely in this bag!Great for storage or traveling or short hiking. Recommend getting a Bob stroller for carrying these heavy lenses when you visit a zoo, etc.

Q: 6. Will this lens be compatible with a D500 and a Z50 (using the FTZ)?

A: Yes this is compatible with the Nikon D500 and will fit on the Nikon Z50 with the FTZ Adapter.

Q: 7. What lens hood will fit properly?

A: The discontinued Nikon HK-14 is the correct hood for the Nikon NIKKOR 20mm f/2.8 Lens. Any hood that has a 62mm thread could be used with this lens, but most will cause vignetting.

Q: 8. Does this fit the nikkormat ft3

A: Yes, this would fit a Nikkormat FT3 as it also uses the Nikon F mount.

Q: 9. Does this version have the chip that enables focus confirmation, etc?

A: This lens does not have an AE chip.

Q: 10. Can this cover be used on Nikon D850 + Nikon 200-500 ?

A: Yes, this Dot Line Camo Rain Cover can accept a Nikon D850 equipped with a Nikon 200-500mm lens.

I have been using LensCoat covers on my lenses for a few years now and have not looked back. Lenses are expensive, and this helps provide protection for my investment. The camo pattern also helps a lot around wildlife.

Cover fits the lens well, protecting the lens from bumps and scratches in the kit bag. Also reduces the thermal shock to the lens when working in the polar regions and is gentler on the fingers in the polar regions.

When you pay $12,000 for a lens, you want to do all you can to protect it. LensCoat lens covers are the real deal. This is the third super telephoto lens I have covered with a LensCoat cover. All the pieces were cut to fit and the assembly process was quick and painless. Everything fit as it was intended. When you use a lens that is almost two feet long, it tends to get bumped from time to time. The LensCoat cover does an excellent job of protecting the lens from scratches and dings. I recently sold a lens that had been protected with a LensCoat cover. When the cover was removed, the lens looked like it did the day it was purchased. Besides protection, the LensCoat cover provides camouflage and a warm touch on cold days. I would not use a long telephoto without it.

I purchased this for my 70-200mm f2.8 for a football game that I had field access and for which I was not sure what the weather was going to be during the game. I wanted some general protection and this was it. It comes in 3 small sections that you slide over your lens & lens hood. They all fit very snug and there was no worry that it would move or fall off at any time. As it turned out, the game night weather was clear, but very cold. I had this lens on a 2nd body with a Black Rapid strap. It was great to pull up the 2nd camera/lens and not feel the cold metal of the 70-200mm barrell. The cover does not impact your access to the focus or zoom ring. I am not sure how the cover would do in more severe weather but I like that it does give basic protection from keeping it on sling hanging from my side.

The LensCoat was as expected, easy to put on and has a very good feel. Because of the expense of the Nikon AF-S 300 f/4E, I felt it was worth protecting from scratches so this is the first LensCoat that I have purchased. Living in NE, the insulation makes it much more comfortable to use in the cold and I love the feel of the lens in my hand. Because Ishootmostly at high shutter speeds, I don't use the VR often but can tell it would be difficult to switch back and forth with the plastic cover. Regardless, I wouldn't cut this out because it does add some water protection around the switch and it is easy enough to lift the neoprene to make the change. It works for me and I would highly recommend this cover.

I decided to protect my new lens with a Lenscoat tree pattern cover. Well, if you have strong hands, installation would be easy. Hands with arthritis is another story. I did get it put on lens but it took some time. I left the last piece off as I often use the polarizing filter. All in all it serves a good purpose and looks pretty good out in the Everglades.

I bought this as an experiment to see if 'camo' covers actually improve wildlife photo opportunities. I have seen many photographers with them, so I am trying it. an added bonus is the bump protection of the neoprene. The install was very easy and straight forward. The fit was spot on for a Nikon lens.
