Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Pardon me, I'm a vegetarian. I just wanted to inquire whether these ear pads are made of leather or leatherette? Most kind of you in advance for your answer!

A: I have the packet in hand, but it does not state whether it is leather or not. However, the old pads on the M series headphones are not leather. The user manual refers to them as Professional-grade earpad and headband material Perhaps your Audio Technical representative can provide a definitive answer.

Q: 2. Any one use these for working out? How do they hold up?

A: The Shure AONIC 215 Gen 2 Bluetooth True Wireless In-Ear Headphones (Blue) perform pretty well due to the IPX4 water-resistance rating that helps withstand gym workouts.

Q: 3. Are these compatible with Bose AE2? If not, are there cups for that? TY

A: I have a BOSE AE SOUNDLINK 2. The earpads are compatible. They are good but not perfect. I liked them.

Q: 4. with the travel case?

A: The Audeze LCD-X Planar Magnetic Headphones Creator Package also includes the travel case.

Q: 5. Are these headphones surround sound?

A: These are stereo headphones and cannot offer a surround-sound experience.

Q: 6. Should I get these or Sony MDR-7506? They seem very similar.

A: I bought both the referenced Senal and Sony headsets--each is stored and used with separate video cameras. I cannot perceive any audio or comfort differences between these two headsets but I really like the detachable cord feature on the Senal SMH-1000. This lets me switch between the longer coiled cord or short straight cord as needs require--and provides a back-up headset cable in case the other got damaged. As the other reviewer said, you won't go wrong with either headset.

Q: 7. Will these fit on Sony MDR-V900 / V600 ?

A: These pads will not fit the V66 or 900. We do not carry suitable replacement pads at this time.

Q: 8. What are the inside dimensions of the ear cups? I have big ears.

A: The inside oval-shaped area is approximately 1.5X2.5 inches. We do also offer Auray Extra Deep Earpads (Pair), BH #AUEDMDR7506, which are deep and offer a wider inner area.

Q: 9. Will these fit Bose Quietcomfort 15?

A: These should fit the BOSE QC 15 headphones.

Q: 10. What is the serial number?

A: B&H does not provide serial numbers on items before purchase.

[0.38 lb] Good replacements for OEM ear pads. Fit and finish is excellent. Memory foam is a bit more firm and thicker than the original pads, should last longer if that is any indicator.

[Memory Foam] My original headband was worn out and falling apart, so it had to be replaced. Picked this one because B&H had it in stock.

When I first opened it, I was worried about the fit as it looks a little longer than the original. But, once installed the little bit of extra length provides a bit of extra padding over the hinge. I’d say I prefer it over the original!

[Black] I like these headphones very much. Once I understood how to adjust the top band so that the top rests little more forward on my head (which is how these are designed to be worn), then I appreciated how comfortable they are.

These replaced 10 year old Sony headphones that I bought for 3X as much. The Shure sound quality is a bit richer. My wife is a musician and she’s impressed by this much range they have at this price. Anyway, my last comment is that the Aonic 40 does an outstanding job in blocking outside noise.

[Black] I have owned Shure in-ear devices for some 20 years. Started with the E3C. I currently own the SE215 and SE425 as well as many other wired IEMs. My true wireless device is the TW-1 besides the BT1 and BT2.
Not sure why I bought the AONIC 4 as I was already in good shape, but I had read about the hybrid driver and that the AOMIC 4 sounds more realistic than the SE425. I was alternating between the SE215 and SE425 for gym and travel respectively.
Now the AONIC 4. I am using this for the gym and travel. I placed the others in a drawer. The sound is so much fuller that the SE425 and does not have the weak sound of the SE215. Noticeable improvement. The fit is secure. Do not fall out of the ear. Works well with the TW1/TW2 setup with the MMCX connection.
Worth the money although I would wait for a sale as I did.
Good luck!

[0.38 lb] I have tried so many headphones lately and been very disappointed.

Bose QC45 had good noice cancellation but awful sound quality. Sounded low bitrate and far away, very poor for $300 headphones. Wouldn't connect to my iPhone reliably after powering on. Comfortable though.

Sony 1000x4 or whatever they are called were almost the same as the Bose but a little bit better sound quality. Comfortable however.

JBL 660nc were good sound quality and noice cancellation but hurt my head. My ears are too big for the cups.

These Shure Aonic 40 have OK noise cancellation but make up for it with the AMAZING sound quality. Seriously if you listen right after the Bose it's like night and day. The Shure Aonic 40 sound like wired headphones. They sound like my wired Philips Fidelio open back. These are very comfortable too! I am not a huge fan of their look and bulky size but whatever, can't have it all. I think these are a fair price on sale for $180. The app works really well too.

[0.38 lb] Sound quality - great
Great for music and video monitoring
Bluetooth version are great for commuting and working out.
They pair with iPhone immediately after removing them from the charging case.
The case is bigger than most out there, but the sound quality makes up for any inconvenience.

[Memory Foam] i purchased these headphones to replace a set of Bose QC 45s that suddenly and mysteriously died. They fit me well, the instructions are clear and simple, and the Bluetooth pairing is quick and painless. I think they are great value for money. The headphones also include a carrying case, a USB-C cable and a headphone cable, which are nice extras.

[0.38 lb] I use the adapters with non-share earbuds, and they work quite well for me. The adapters are a little large, but the button size and placement work well. The sound quality is also good, and I haven't had any issues with pairing. The Shure Play app offers good customization for EQ, button function, and environment mode.
The charging case is a little on the large size (likely wouldn't fit into a pocket), but the battery life lasts long enough that I mostly don't use the charging case or bring it with me. I noticed a few small hiccups with software (environment mode turning on unexpectedly) when I first set these up, but haven't had that issue since.
Definitely recommend these if you're looking for a way to bring your favorite MMCX earbuds with you on the go for a true wireless experience.

[0.38 lb] The stock replacements from Grado are uncomfortable and they deteriorate badly. These are comfortable, give a better fit, and give my R-1’s a richer and fuller sound.
