Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Instruction manual in English included?

A: Yes it is. Here is the download to the .pdf of the manual as well: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/486664.pdf

Q: 2. Does the Sony PCM-D10 also work as an external USB audio interface? (Some Zoom and Tascam devices have this function)

A: The Sony PCM-D10 Portable High-Resolution Linear PCM Audio Recorder is not an interface.

Q: 3. How many volts of plugin power does the recorder supply via the 3.5mm jack?

A: Sony does not specify the specific voltage supplied to the 3.5mm Mic/Line input jack on the Sony PCM-D10 Portable High-Resolution Linear PCM Audio Recorder, however plug-in power is 5V in most cases and it can be assumed that this is the voltage available from this input.

Q: 4. Can an electric guitar be played through this system without damaging it?

A: Yes a guitar may be connected via the 1/4" Instrument Input.

Q: 5. Can the microphones be configured with a laptop and operate on a podcast at real time?

A: the microphone can be adjusted on recorder and also volume lowerd or rised on the device it self . and also depending on what software your using in your computer you raise and lower volume, but thats about it.

Q: 6. I want to record 2 wireless lavalier mics but they use 3.5mm output. Can I plug them into the combo XLR-1/4" jacks using a 3.5mm to 1/4" cable?

A: Hi, Diego! Good news! You can plug the recorder into the combo XLR-1/4 jacks using a 3.5mm to 1/4" cable. Regards, Erin

Q: 7. What is the start up time for the D10?

A: This is notspecified by Sony. But it is just a second or two.

Q: 8. does it have english manual instruction ?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 9. So how does the D10 with say maybe an AKG 414 or two in whatever the highest quality possible compare to the D100 in DSD mode using the onboard mics? Also, can the D100 use the XLR-1 Mic Adaptor that works with the PCM-D50?

A: The AKG 414's will trump the onboard mics of either machine.

Q: 10. Sony has three high resolution XLR microphones available: The EMC-100N, EMC-100U, and the C-100. I assume the C-100 is not good for field recording, so is either the EMC-100U or EMC-100N good for field recording? Alternately, are there any similar caliber microphones that are good for high resolution audio for field use?

A: It depends on what you intend to record. The EMC-100N is an omnidirectional mic, so if you intend to record a group of people or soundscape, that would be a good choice. The EMC-100U on the other hand is a cardioid pattern mic, so very good for single-subject or narrow-field recording. The C-100 is not really for field recording, more for studio work like voice over. A good choice for a mic that can do both is the Sony ECM-680S which is a switchable M/S Stereo mic that can be switched to unidirectional. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/514507-REG/Sony_ECM_680S_ECM_680S_M_S_Stereo_Shotgun.html

[1200 W Peak ] I purchased three of these and two SRX subs for my church. We have been using them for about two months and I could not be happier. I was planning to purchase the PRX series or potentially a different brand but the first time I heard the the SRX815P I had to have them even though they were outside of my budget. I have had multiple comments on how great they sound. I am very happy.

[+4 dBu] Powerful, lots of capability in the highs, great sounding, very clear makes me thing of a giant studio monitor, only with more presence and more lows, excellent for 100 - 500 people corporate events, will handle indoor wedding bands, for 200 people, better use 2 per side. SRX818 cant handle the high frequency capacity of this box, that's what i test and thats what my jbl vendor had even told me beforehand, he suggest me the dual srx828.

[1200 W Peak ] I have tried a number of active subwoofers in my time and I can say without reservation that this is my favorite. We use it for a school application both inside our very large gym and outside on our field for field day etc. Other subwoofers were completely swallowed up in these large spaces but this thing kept on giving me chest compressions event after event. The bass was clean and deep, no sloppy vibrations or rattle. It is straight forward plug and play for those of us who are not professional audioheads. I have it paired with 2-4 QSC K12.2 speakers and together they put a huge smile on my face.

[1x High-Pass ] Now nearing our third year using the 835s as our FOH main speakers (with JBL subs, of course!) for our consistently-performing Modern Country/Classic Rock outfit, doing concerts with up to 600 in attendance; HIGH-QUALITY sound that reaches the back rows with clarity and punch... Nothing beats JBL components being unleashed through Crown power! THANKS, JBL for helping us "carry our show" to the people!
