For vloggers, livestreamers, videographers, and mobile journalists who need a space-saving microphone that provides higher-quality sound capture than their mobile device's built-in mic, the Godox Geniusmic LT iPhone Microphone Lightning Connectoroffers an ultracompact and affordable solution. This miniature condenser mic connects directly to the Lightning port on your iPhone or iPad, no external cabling or mount required. It also features its own headphone output on the rear of the mic body, so you can conveniently monitor your input signal or playback through earbuds or studio headphones.

Since the Geniusmic LT runs on Lightning power (no batteries required) and has no controls to configure, it ensures easy, user-friendly operation for people of all experience levels. The aluminum housing provides durability, light weight, and effective resistance to interference from RF sources. By incorporating a directional polar pattern, the microphone reduces the pickup of off-axis sound such as ambient noise. Bundled with a foam windscreen and a furry windshield, the Geniusmic LT helps you record audio with less noise from wind whether you shoot indoors or outside.

The Geniusmic LT is just 3.1" long and weighs only 1.5 ounces, making it a stealthy companion for your Phone or iPad. The durable aluminum construction helps to fight against RF disturbance.

Utilizing a hypercardioid polar pattern, the Geniusmic LT focuses on sounds in front of it while reducing distracting noises at the sides and to a lesser extent, the rear. This makes it well suited for use in noisy environments and ambience-heavy spaces.

The Geniusmic LT has an extended frequency response (50 Hz to 20 kHz) and high sensitivity, allowing it to yield detailed audio whether you're recording dialogue, instruments, or nature sounds.

With no need to change or charge batteries, the Geniusmic LT runs on power from your iPhone for enhanced convenience. Record quickly and never miss an important moment.

The Geniusmic LT features a Lightning male plug to enable proper connectivity with iPhones and iPads that have a Lightning port.

With a 3.5mm headphone output on the rear of the mic, it supports monitoring of the input signal (app dependent) or playback while the mic remains connected to your mobile device.

The artificial fur windshield aids in reducing wind noise while protecting the mic from weather and dust. This is especially helpful when shooting outdoors.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. May I use this for iPhone 12?

A: Yes, you can use this on an iPhone 12. Just know this is only for charging and listening to audio...it will not work for phone calls.

Q: 2. Would the headphone output produce lower quality sound? I'd like to use this for field work and also for recording podcasts while mixing several inputs (skype, music, etc).

A: No the headphone out will not produce a lower quality audio signal. In fact the 3.5mm headphone jack doubles as line out.

Q: 3. Is this MFi certified?

A: I'm very sorry, this is not specified.

Q: 4. Can this be used stand-alone, without an iOS device? If so, what kind of power would need? I'm wondering if it can be powered externally, then plugged into a camcorder. (Or is there an equivalent Zoom product that doesn't need to be hacked to work with a camcorder?)

A: The iQ6 from Zoom is an iOS only device. Unfortunately Zoom does not currently offer a product similar that works standalone. For a stereo recording option for a camcorder, I would recommend a more traditional camera mountable , battery powered mic. Senal offers a compact solution, the SMS-45. a href= http://bhpho.to/1yN4UPN target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1yN4UPN/a

Q: 5. Does this item ship internationally to Australia?

A: I am sorry, at this time we are unable to ship this item outside of the US.

Q: 6. Which mic would you recommend this one the iQ6 or the iQ7 if i want to record youtube and fitness videos where I am speaking about 5 feet away from the iphone and mic? i was considering a the BOYA wireless mic but would rather not have anything on me

A: Both mics will give you a high quality recording, so you can't go wrong with either mic, but the iQ7 is more versatile. The mid-side capsules on the iQ7 rotate and can be adjusted for stereo recording at 90 or 120 degrees and you can adjust the width of the stereo field. The stereo audio is also fully mono compatible. The iQ6 offers X/Y stereo recording at 90 or 120 degrees which will capture a narrow or wider stereo field. The stereo audio recorded with the iQ6 is not mono compatible, which may not matter for your needs. Because of the flexible options for positioning the capsules and the options for adjusting the width of the field, as well as the mono compatibility, I would recommend the iQ7.

Q: 7. How much space will I need to record an hour and a half using Wav format?

A: If you use this 32GB card you will have more than enough time. B&H # SAESD32GBV3G that is the B&H part number.

Q: 8. Will it work for “mic in”

A: Yes, the side with the headphone symbol will behave in the same way as the lightning connector on your iPhone or iPad.

Q: 9. Does this item ship internationally?

A: I am sorry, at this time we are unable to ship this item outside of the US.

Q: 10. Can I use this to sync my iPhone to my computer also, or does it only support charging.

A: The Aluratek Dual Lightning Adapter for iPhone/iPad BH #ALADL01F will also allow you to sync to the computer.

[0.295 lb] As of this writing there are two field recording external microphones for iPhones that utilize the Lightning connector. Zoom iQ7 and the RODE iXY. Essential to the use of the microphones are two apps available through the Apple store. RODE Rec sells for $5.99 and the ZOOM Handy Rec is free. Both apps will work just fine with the built-in microphone in the iPhone and both apps are interchangeable for either the ZOOM iQ7 or the RODE iXY. The ZOOM iQ7 costs about one half the list price for the RODE iXY. I bought the ZOOM iQ7 and am very happy with it. I don't have any way to compare the two directly. The RODE iXY may well be worth the additional cost but I suggest that any potential buyers compare the specs of the two units. I am using the RODE Rec recording app with the ZOOM iQ7 and find it far superior in terms of flexibility. I suspect that both of these apps are just a little past beta testing and there could be improvements in future upgrades. The cost of RODE Rec is nominal in my view and I would recommend anyone interested in these accessory microphones to try both apps.

[End Address] I purchased the FLIR one Pro LT and have been using it for a couple of days in my house. I mainly got it to inspect the parts of my house where it's hottest/coldest (season dependent) and has already helped me identify the culprit areas that I'm now getting insulation installed to mitigate.

The only thing I'd like to see added to the mobile app, iOS in my case, is that the thermal range bar is exported when an image is was taken to add further add context to the image. People that are shown the images always ask what the range of colors means.

[Hypercardioid] Pro level build quality at a very reasonable price. I use it for power amplifier diagnostics, but it seems to have unlimited uses. Very well designed and useful device.

[Bus Power] I use this mic in two ways. 1. for better audio recording on interviews and 2. for better audio with my video. The mic is wonderful for both. I definitely recommend playing around with it before you go out to use it professionally. It's got a bit of a learning curve but packs a mighty punch.

[Hypercardioid] I tend to be very clumsy with my equipment, this little mic. is so well made, I'm not afraid to drop it and worry if it's going to break. It's user friendly and at the right distance, provides excellent audio. Another Zoom recommendation.

[Bus Power] As I always love Zoom Audio products. Easy to carry, no any big quality difference than other Zoom products. Good for Vlog and other Social Media Content

[Hypercardioid] I use this on an iPhone 12 Pro and it works as I would expect. Nice sound, no extraneous noise. To do it right, you will need a small tripod or GorillaPod. The mics require you to mount the phone upside down if you want the mics on top. The Zoom software is a pain - usable, but not very well executed.

[Bus Power] Phone speakers are not all created equal and typically not good for recording on the run and or at home. The Zoom iQ7 takes your lightning equipped iPhone to the next level with super high quality audio recordings. I would recommend this to anyone recording audio into the iPhone for music and or voice recordings.

[0.295 lb] I highly recommend the Zoom iQ6 to anyone in need of a high-quality microphone for their iOS devices. It's an incredible device that punches well above its weight in terms of sound quality, adjustability, and value for the price.
