Draw more attention to your subject with a circular spot of focus surrounded by a beautifully blurred background by using the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic, available here with a Leica L mount. This updated tool is completely compatible with the established Optic Swap System and can use any of the numerous optics available. This version improves upon the original Pro model by featuring a metal body as well as an improved tilt function that ranges from 0-15° in any direction.

Bundled with it is the Sweet 50, which offers a normal perspective on full-frame cameras. This curved field optic differs from your standard lens by creating a spot of focus when tilted that can be manipulated in position by tilting the Composer and manipulated in size by manually changing the aperture from f/2.5 to 22. The optic also offers manual focus as close as 15" from your subject. Additionally, the Sweet 50 has a 46mm filter thread as well as an internal 12-blade diaphragm for extra smooth out-of-focus areas.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f1.7? Or other third party lenses for that matter? How close will this adapter focus with 35mm Ultron if it compatible?

A: Yes, it will work with any M mount lens, but I think it works best with longer lens such as 50 mm and more. Leica makes a 90 mm macro lens that goes with it.

Q: 2. Is it double coated?

A: Hi Sorin, These are multi-coated filters!

Q: 3. Can this be used with lensbaby composer pro ii?

A: Yes, I use these macro filters with my Composer Pro II & the Sweet 50 Optic.

Q: 4. could i use this with one of the older M models (M Monochrom)? i understand the macro focusing would be pretty hard without LiveView, but it could be possible, right?

A: I use this with Live View on several Sonys which because of their excellent peaking focus feature they can work with the adaptor. I think without live view it will be nearly impossible or at least very hit and miss to get tack sharp focus with the adaptor. Be sure in itself the adaptor is terrific piece of kit.

Q: 5. Will I be able to keep adapter on for use with a collapsible 50mm summicron for infinity shots in collapsed setting as can be done with the 90mm macro?

A: You won't. Leica Macro-Adapter-M does not allow the camera to focus to infinity any longer. To focus to infinity you need to remove the adapter. Only lens that will allow you to focus to infinity with this adapter is the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 90mm f/4 lens.

Q: 6. will these fit my lensbaby sweet50 for Olympus 4/3 OMD1 MarkII?

A: Hi Joan, Yes, the 46mm thread mount filters will fit all of the newer Lensbaby Optics (Sweet 35, Sweet 50, Sweet 80, Edge 50, and Edge 80). - Lensbaby

Q: 7. I mounted my m10 with the 90mm APO-Summicron f2 and the macro-adaptor-m on a tripod. I set the aperture to f5.6 and the iso to 100 and the exposure to 1/2 second and took a great image. When I loaded the image into Lightroom and lookedat the info, it showed f22. Does this mean the the effective f number rises dramatically with the use of the adaptor? Does this introduce and optical problems?

A: No, the effective f-number does not rise dramatically with the use of the Leica Macro-Adapter-M. There is no electronic communication between the Leica Macro-Adapter-M and the M-mount camera, and as such, no EXIF data such as aperture setting or focus distance is transmitted between the lens, lens mount, and camera. As such, either no information is listed or a minimum number (such as f/22) would be listed. That being said, this has no effect to the image quality. As there are no optics inside the lens adapter, it does not introduce any optical problems.

Q: 8. Will this fit on my sweet 50 spark 2.0?

A: Yes it would , Lensbaby Spark 2.0 with Sweet 50 takes 46mm filters

Q: 9. What is the difference between these and the extension kit that’s the same price?

A: Close up filters are easy to use, with no loss of light, but lose image quality, do not work well on wide angle lenses and you cannot focus at infinity. Extension tubes work well on wide to normal lenses and there is no lost in image quality. However, they do not work well on telephotos, you lose infinity, you lose light the longer they are, exposure can be trial and error, the build quality of the connection and any electronics can have an effect on usefulness.

Q: 10. can i use this macro adapter m with len leica summicron 35 asph ??? minimum range focus on summicron 35 asph is 700 mm so with this adapter can i make close focus is shorter than 700 mm ???

A: Yes and yes!

[Manual Focus] I am a huge fan of the Lensbaby line and love the Twist 60. It's swirling bokeh is beautiful and unique to the cameras of the past.

[46 mm (Front)] This is the result of my first use of this lens. 50+ images & 2.5 hours later. I even consulted the documentation. I had previously watched all of the Lensbaby videos for this lens. Shot was on a tripod with macro focusing rails & macro flash. I am quite pleased with the photo. This lens will deliver if your vision suits the linear focusing that it allows. Olympus OM D EM 1 manual mode. This will not be my most used lens, but it will deliver some of my best work.

[f/22] A great addition to the composer pro sweet 50 this lens is a pleasure to play with. It encourages you to be creative all the time. The tilt shift allows you to have the focus slice vertical, horizontal or diagonal according to the angle you tilt the lens. This is really easy to use and the manual focus and aperture controls are smooth. this lens has great build quality. I highly recommend it.

[f/2.5] The Twist optic, known more for the swirl of bokah, produces very nice effects. I learned to achieve the swirl your subject should be about 6-7 feet from the camera. I really like this optic.

[46 mm (Front)] The slice of focus is exactly the type of effect I was looking for in a tilt lens. I tried the Double Glass and it's not nearly as pronounced as the Edge 50. It's a super fun lens to use and forces you to slow down and master the tilt effect with manual focus. Highly recommended! Also, it's much more convenient to have a built in aperture instead of the magnetic disks. Works with all of Lensbaby's Composer tilt systems.
