Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this mic compatible with Rode Newsshooter kit?. Please kindly adviseThanksChabi

A: Yes. The Senal mic (SEUTM8635H) is wired for Sennheiser transmitters, which are also wired the same way as Rode transmitters.

Q: 2. Hi, I bought this mic, but the little windscreen/pop filter fell apart after a while of use. Where can I get a replacement?

A: The Auray WLF-018-3 Foam Windscreens for 1/8" Diameter Microphones - 3 Pack (B&H # AUWLF0183) is a pack of three compatible replacement windscreens for the Senal UTM-86-35H Lavalier Mic.

Q: 3. What is the width of the elastic?

A: The width of the elastic is 2 inches.

Q: 4. Is this suitable for fitness instructors? As in, does the material of the belt protect the mic pack from sweat?

A: The material is thick but not waterproof. It's really a large piece of elastic with a velcro closure. Dancers use these in theater shows all the time and are fine, but if you are going all day and regularly sweat through belts I'd protect the mic in a different way.

Q: 5. How this lav compares to the Senal OLM2? thanks!

A: This mic is a little bit smaller than the ME2, and the performance is usually better. This Senal mic will usually be a better choice if you need to hide the microphone. I do think the ME2 mic is usually more durable though, and may be a better choice if that is a concern for your use. I would also recommend considering the Senal OLM-2 as an option, which is nearly identical to the ME-2: https://bhpho.to/300xXJB

Q: 6. Does it interfere with the DJI Wireless Mic like the Rode Lavalier Go?

A: The Senal UTM-86-35H Lavalier Mic would not be recommended for use with the DJI Mic because of its locking connector, which has been known to block connection with the DJI Mic's transmitter units.

Q: 7. Can the velcro be velcroed anywhere along the length of the belt? Can the belts be cut shorter?

A: Unfortunately not. There is only one part of the belt that has Velcro which is where it closes around the waste. The rest of the belt is elastic. The package includes 3 extra small, 5 small, 5 medium, 4 large, and 3 extra large belts.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with the Sennheiser FreePort lavalier kit?

A: Theoretically, yes. The Sennheiser Freeport wireless system is no longer available and as such cannot be tested with current products. Nonetheless, the wiring on the Freeport is the same as the EW wireless systems- and the UTM-86-35H is designed to work specifically with the Evolution Series wireless system. There should be no issue.

Q: 9. Would this work to give a little extra room if the belt I have fits a little too tight on the body? Or would it barely make a difference?

A: This belt is 7 inches long, so it could possibly be used to extend a belt. It 's main purpose is to strap a wireless bodypack onto a guitar strap or mic stand.

Q: 10. Will this work with any xlr mic input that provides 48v phantom power? eg Motu M2 ?

A: No, this microphone will not connect to a common XLR input, and it does not operate on 48v Phantom. We do offer a similar microphone that does come with a 48v phantom adapter (it is not going to pass full 48v to the mic, rather it reduces to the nominal voltage). It actually has better frequency response than the UTm-86. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/898932-REG/senal_cl6_3_5n_p_cl6_omni_lavalier_mic.html

[0.05 lb] This product is perfect, I use several of them every week. There seems to be some confusion about their purpose...you put a wireless pack in a pouch, put this strap on the pouch and then attach it a microphone stand. I love these for making shotgun mics wireless. It's perfect.
