Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this contain bitterant? I'm worried how this'll impact my negatives and dislike the fact that the chemical remains after handwashing.

A: This Super Dust Gun does not contain bitterant.

Q: 2. I saw some reviews elsewhere that airport security (TSA, and abroad) have confiscated these because of the look. Still happening?

A: I don't think so. I've been on several domestic flights and one international one in 2017 and have never had any issues with TSA trying to confiscated it.

Q: 3. It claims to have a detachable nozzle. Do you simply pull nozzle off and rinse inside of blower with water? Mine is fairly old and no longer blows clean air.

A: Hi Vicki, yes you can simply remove the nozzle for cleaning.-Thomas

Q: 4. Is it safe for camera lenses and optics?

A: These Dusters are safe for products and optics, it is important to keep the blower straight when using.

Q: 5. Is there much difference in the amount of air blown with the Large Giottos versus the Medium? I'm mostly wondering if the extra bulkiness/length of the Large one is worth it versus saving a little space in my camera bag?

A: I keep the large size in my studio for cleaning my lenses after being out on a shoot. I keep the medium size in my camera bag for just in case. The large size has more volume, hense more pressure. Hope this helps.

Q: 6. Does this product contain bitterant?

A: Yes it contains a bitterant to help discourage inhalant abuse.

Q: 7. What % alcohol solution is this?

A: This is not specified by the manufacturer.

Q: 8. Does the surface of the rubber become dislodged into small filaments if rubbed or handled aggressively?

A: No, the rubber holds up very well and does not dry and crack.

Q: 9. Does it come with the special straw to access tough spots, such as a DSLR mirror?

A: The can should come with a straw. However for a DSLR mirror or other camera internals we do not recommend high pressure air. A bulb blower is much safer https://bhpho.to/2JHmggp.

Q: 10. Would this work on a mirroless camera sensor?

A: No, this is not to be used on a camera sensor. It could potentially damage the sensor.

[Compressed Air] I use the Dust Gun to blow dust off of negatives that I print in the darkroom or scan.  Its a pretty low-tech item that just works.

[Compressed Air] As long as the can is held vertically there is no unnecessary wetting from the chemicals. o when cleaning off negatives to scan or for cleaning dust from the bulb of the scanner this is excellent.
