[T16] This lens is nothing short of amazing. Sharp - even wide open, at 2.8/4 you wouldn’t want the image any sharper.
Flare is beautiful, squeeze and bokeh looks amazing...
A real anamorphic lens for this price - paired with a Blackmagic pocket 4K - it’s an amazing combo ! My favorite - personally.

[Full Frame] When I saw the output from this lens, I almost cried. The images are simply mindblowing. The bokeh is pure cinema, the flairs are dazzling yet not gaudy, the sense of presence is incredible, and the color and clarity are perfect.


I thought the price was extreme at first for the m43 system. Then I realized the lens really is on a whole other level. It is a piece of art that makes art.


I've ordered tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear at BH. I've never written a review. But this lens deserves to be known and celebrated.

[50mm] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[Imperial] Alright, this is my first anamorphic and cinema lens. I went back and forth for about a year on what would be my first cinema lens and i went this route based on the few videos i have seen on youtube. I'm not a professional in the filmmaking world (trying though) however I know quality and art when I see it. There's not a lot of info on these, and after figuring out how to monitor them correctly, and color grade the footage (I have a canon r5c and use final cut to grade them) I tossed it up on my big screen TV and was shook... i dont know if BH will take this down but here is some test footage and a quick color grading.

[1.8x] If you are on the fence about Vazen, do not hesitate to purchase. This lens delivers a gorgeous and wide anamorphic image. It isn’t too heavy and the cine gears are great. Works well with the Blackmagic Pocket 4K. I get excited every time I use this lens. Worth every penny.

[Full Frame] I bought this lens due to having an ease of use rather then my Projection Lens set up.For an Anamorphic Lens,this lens is quite Sharp.The Anamorphic characteristics are quite on par with a lot of the more expensive ones.A lot of people complain that this lens is heavy.Well,what anamorphic lens that has a 1.8-2x stretch which are not? In fact this has to be the lightest 1.8-2x stretch anamorphic lens to date.That was before the 28mm though.For a telephoto anamorphic lens that has a close to 2x stretch which brings out true anamorphic characteristics,its a no brainer.Amazing that we live in times where we can actually own one of this kind of lenses.Ohh did i mention the price? Cheapest out there for a 1.8x.Thats right.

[7.09 lb] Coming from spherical lenses - the price tag might seems high - especially for a relatively unknown brand. But it’s actually very affordable compared to the competition !
Anything cheaper for full frame will fake some of the characteristic of anamorphic lenses, and have no or very low squeeze. I wish it had a 2x squeeze - but the 1.8 squeeze probably allow to slightly more affordable price - while being optimal for 16:9 sensors, that are most likely what you’ll use it on...
Paired with a A7siii the image quality is amazing !
I recommend pairing this with a monitor that allow you to see the desqueezed image, as it can be fairly hard to focus without it, and framing as well can be challenging.
For an anamorphic lens, it’s very sharp, even wide open, I mostly shoot at T4 though mostly because it can be challenging to nail focus with this kind of lenses, as they’re slightly softer than spherical (not in a bad way, image is very pleasing), similar to using a light diffusion filter.
Overall, I totally recommend this lens, hopefully we see a 2x version soon too !
Also, if you’re in a limited budget, I would recommend the 40mm MFT version paired with a Blackmagic pocket 4K... the package would come to $4500 vs $12000... for a little more than 1/3 of the price, result is very close. The A7siii has an edge in low light obviously but if you’re using even minimal lighting (which you should), it shouldn’t be an issue. The blackmagic has the advantage of having a bigger screen - easier to manually focus without monitor.
Both are fantastic combos - and a lot cheaper than Cooke paired with an Alexa ...

[86 mm] Beautiful image - more than impressed with how things turned out. Shot a 15-minute film with just this lens.

[T2.1] This lens is awesome, and produces clean images with real cinematic effects. I have the complete Venus T2.9 set (35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 150mm plus the 1.25 adapter that produces a 2x squeeze when paired with the 1.6x anamorphic squeeze of the lenses). The lenses produce uniform colors all throughout the set, and images are sharp wide open at T2.9. Somehow SIRUI has managed to make these primes sharp wide open, but not too sharp, given you that movie like look without any diffusion filters on the front of your lens. If you haven't tried the anamorphic look, you have no idea what your projects are missing. As result of purchasing this set, my G Masters and spherical Cine primes are collecting dust. The SIRUI 1.6x T 2.9 Venus Anamorphic lenses are a great set of glass.

[Full Frame] Awesome lens with tons of character. Great close focus abilities too.
