If it is your sync terminal, then purchasing a wireless radio remote system would not work as they still utilize the power pack's sync terminal to connect the radio receiver/transceiver to the power pack. I would recommend to use the items you currently have to confirm or eliminate the issue. As you state the hot shoe on the camera is working, it does not seem to be a camera issue.
