Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is the Sony e mount the same as the Sony ef mount?

A: TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens for Sony E is an apsc lens. If your camera is full frame you would need a full frame lens. Some lens manufacturers call it FE and some call it E mount full frame.

Q: 2. Is this lens weather resistant?

A: No, this lens is not weather sealed.

Q: 3. Can it be used on full frame camera?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens for Nikon Z can be used on a full frame camera but it would be recommended to set the camera to crop mode in order to avoid vignetting. Crop mode will reduce the resolution of the camera and increase the focal length to about 75mm. A full frame lens would be a better choice for a full frame camera such as this Mitakon: https://bhpho.to/2GrGOpZ

Q: 4. How to use this on sony a7r iv?

A: You will need a Leica-M to Sony E-mount adapter.

Q: 5. Can you adapt this to canon 90d?

A: To adapt this lens to a Canon EOS 90D, you would need an adapter such as the KIPON Lens Mount Adapter for Leica M-Mount, Visoflex Lens to Canon EF-Mount Camera, BH # KILVISOEOSA. https://bhpho.to/3nrzAaQ

Q: 6. Can you set the aperture to wide open and have the camera body regulate aperture?

A: Unlike older MF Nikon lenses where you would set the minimum aperture to control it through the body , you have to adjust the aperture from the lens.

Q: 7. Will this fit the Sony ZV-E10 without an adapter? I saw a YouTuber say it needed the 7artisans Photoelectric Autofocus Adapter?

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens for Sony E will fit onto the Sony ZV-E10. It is a manual focus lens and will not work with the 7artisans Photoelectric Autofocus Adapter.

Q: 8. Does the focus peaking on the Z5 still work with this lens?

A: Yes, the focus peaking will work on the Nikon Z5 when using the Meike MK-50mm f/1.7 Lens for Nikon Z.

Q: 9. For the canon rf mount it says it is only for aps-c is that right

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 Lens for Canon RF, BH # TT5095APSCCR is optimized for Canon RF mount cameras with an APS-C sensor. Using it on a full frame sensor would result in a loss of resolution and cropping in the image.

Q: 10. Is this for Sony o compatible

A: If you mean is this Sony E-Mount compatible, this lens would be compatible if you make use of a MEMBLMEBT2 adapter.

[APS-C] I had previously purchased the Meike 35mm f/1.7 lens and was quite pleased with it so I decided to try this 50mm lens. I am doing interviews for a documentary and using a BMPCC 4k. This lens is perfect for closeups; maybe a little soft wide open but very clear when stopped down a bit. At this price it was well worth the money. No regrets at all.

[62 mm (Front)] Having recently added a Fuji X-E3 to my Fuji camera collection (I also have an X-T1 and an X100), I was looking for a pancake prime lens in the “normal” focal length of 40-50 mm (full frame equivalent). Having grown up on fully manual 35 mm film cameras, I still enjoy an all metal, manual focus prime lens. On one of my Fuji discussion forums, a number of X-E3 owners highly recommended this lens. The price for this lens is less than I have spent for a quality UV filter for some of my expensive Fuji lenses, so it was a no-brainer purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the lens arrived in perfect condition, solid metal construction, internals clean, glass clean, focus and aperture rings rotate smoothly and it mounted to the camera body solidly.

A much bigger surprise is the joy of use and image quality. My X-E3, with this lens, has a similar, but smaller form factor than my X100. It is far easier to focus than my two 7 Artisans manual lenses. Image quality is excellent, and although there is noticeable vignetting at f/2.8, I find it adds an artistic touch to my images. I’ve had experience with this focal length before (my first 35 mm film camera was a Canonet rangefinder with a 40 mm f/2.8 pancake prime) and I find the 42 mm full frame equivalent focal length to be far more useful as a general purpose lens than a 50mm, which I find just a tad too long for my style of photography.

The image I chose to attach to this review is a SOOC JPEG test shot in Acros at 12,800 ISO and f/2.8. I love the way this lens renders and it has quickly become my favorite manual focus lens.

[32°] I use this one on the Leica CL, and my mind switched very strangely to the past when I used to shoot with a Canon AE-1, it was a pleasure, I cannot say everything was gold, but the experience was gold. You just need to take your time to take the picture.

If you do pixel peeping you will find chromatic aberrations and it's really difficult to have everything in focus, but it is a very rewarding lens. I was expecting less from TTArtisans but I'm positively impressed.

I'm thinking the next one will be a 35 (close to 50 on aps-c).

(the picture I upload is untouched, I think it shows the feeling of the lens)

[32°] I got this lens at the end of May. Initially I played around with it did not have much success. Needless to say it has an extremely narrow depth of field. A few days ago, July 5, I went out with the lens mounted on my Fuji X-T3. Suddenly, success. I had a 49 keepers and about ten or so into the trash. What I did was focus very carefully. If you are using the lens wide open, you should not breathe. Yes, it does cost slightly more than twice as much as the TTArtisan 50mm f1.2 and does handle quite as well. Nevertheless, I like it very much and will keep it and use it.

[62 mm (Front)] Crisp, sharp images. I thought the manual focus might be challenging but I got great photos. I have lenses that I paid 5x more for that aren't better than this.
The build quality is excellent. Highly recommended.
Using a Nikon Z8. Have to change the frame to DX or you get vignette.

[13] Great low priced lens, well made - good weight and feel to it.
I love manual lenses, so for me this one is great. Used with the GH5s, (so as a 24mm). Focus and aperture rings are very smooth.

Defiantly would recommend!
