Enable admin, user, and one-time recovery passwords. Admins can reset a user password and create a one-time recovery password to restore the user's access to data. Brute force attack protection locks out a user or one-time recovery passwords upon 10 invalid passwords entered in a row and erases the drive if the admin password is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row.

Select between Complex or Passphrase password mode. Passphrases can be a numeric PIN, sentences with space characters, list of words, or even lyrics from 10 to 64 characters long.

Avoid malware attacks with a forced Read-Only mode set by Admin for User or a session-based Read-Only mode set by Admin or User.

Use admin role to locally manage users and one-time recovery passwords, recover data access on locked drives, and comply with laws and regulations when forensics are required.

Reduce failed login attempts and frustration by enabling "eye" button to view password typed. A virtual keyboard function allows you to shield password entry from keyloggers and screenloggers.

In an attempt to keep the number of failed logins as low as possible the software has a couple of useful features. With the modern technology, it is best to have a secure way to store your important data. 5

[Yes] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy setup with multiple password options. You can either setup Complex or Passphrase passwords and also get admin options. Be sure to think about this on initial setup or you may have to reset it if you decide to change later. Still very simple and not a big deal. If you have a need to travel with sensitive data regularly than investing in this type of drive is recommended. If you happen to lose it and someone tries to get to the data, it will erase the drive after 10 failed attempts. It has a number of security features like protection against brute force attacks and virtual keyboard to protect against key loggers. Most importantly it has business grade certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption. If you’re going to purchase something like this don’t skimp on those cheaper no-name devices that state encrypted but not what kind of encryption. Overall quality is on the upper end and when holding the device, it feels very solid. So, no worries about travelling with it and you end up dropping it, stepping on it, etc. Kingston has been around for years and is known for its quality. 5

[0.075 lb] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a drive to keep our tax information on, especially since our taxes involve more documentation than the average household. I will say that this seems a whole lot more complex than I was envisioning, especially once I saw the 34-page user guide. It was a bit daunting. It seems like there are 3 passwords total that can be used, one being a recovery password. It sounds like if I use the recovery password, it allows me to reset the main password. I have not purposely tried that method though. I do appreciate the option to have multiple passwords, just in case though. I am a little nervous that I will forget a password and get locked out, but I guess that is the risk I'm taking by having a password protected device. 5
