The black Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone Blackis a subminiature lav microphone designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.

Engineered to meet the standards of modern digital wireless microphone systems, the COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal. The microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing this tiny mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.

The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent, even when the subject turns away from the mic.

A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable, even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a universal TA5F connector that is wired for use with both servo-bias and non-servo-bias Lectrosonics transmitters. Accessories are available separately and are not included with this configuration of the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the warranty length? Cant seem to find that info

A: This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty.

Q: 2. will this work with an Audio Technica ATW T101 body pack?

A: While the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & Servo-Bias TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters is wired with a TA5F connection also found on microphones wired for Audio Technica, it is not recommended for use with transmitters other than Lectrosonics. The definitively compatible option would be BH #SAC11ANATT5W Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & TA5F Connector for Audio-Technica Transmitters.

Q: 3. Hi, just wondering if someone could tell me if this is compatible with the SONY UTX-B2 wireless transmitter? Thanks, Ross.

A: As long as it is wired for the transmitter's connection, it should work without a problem.

Q: 4. Can this connect directly to a regular recorder like a zoom H1?

A: The COS-11D cannot be connected directly to a recorder. This mic has a 5 pin connection.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Rode Rodelink system?

A: No, the Sony wiring of this mic is not compatible with the RodeLink. Here's a Sennheiser wired version of the COS-11D that would be compatible B&H # SAC11WNSETRB.

Q: 6. I have bought this mic and when plugged into my Sennheiser EW-G3 transmitter I get no signal at all, is there a setting I need to change? The transmitter works with ME-2 Mic, recording to a Zoom H6. Thank

A: Hi. This mic is great but comes with some strange and quite dealbreaking features. I sent my first one back due to a high pulsating noise that it created along with very low input volume. Got a new one and same thing. I'm paring it with a Sennheiser G3 unit and a zoom H6 as well and just by chance I notised that I had perfect sound when pulling the plug out of the G3 transmitter a millimiter or so. If you stick it all the way in, it wont work. Obviously this is crap and I'm only using it when I have a subject that I know will be pretty much completely still and I always have to fibble around with it for a while but then again, It produces greeeeat sound for a Lav. /Marcus

Q: 7. I bought this one. I have a question. If i connect sony transmitter this without phantom power, is it operating?

A: The COS-11D requires 3 to 10V of plug-in power, not phantom power. Phantom power is higher voltage of 12 to 48V. The Sony transmitter will supply the proper amount of plug-in power needed for the COS-11D.

Q: 8. Hello B&H .. Any of this sanken connector models(white color) work with Lectrosonics SSM?Thanks.

A: This Sanken mic will work with your Lectrosonics SSM transmitter:Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic, Normal Sens, Hardwired LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters (No Accessories, White) B&H # SAC11ANSEL3W

Q: 9. Does this mic require phantom power to be on?

A: The Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Microphone requires 3 to 10V of DC power which is typically considered plug-in power. However, depending on the type of connector that is used for the mic and the device it is connecting to, phantom power may be used with along with a power converter to bring the voltage down from 48V to the appropriate amount of plug-in power.

Q: 10. Do I need servo bias for Lectro SMQV?

A: Yes, the Lectrosonics SMQV Transmitter does have Servo Bias input, so you can use the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & Servo-Bias TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters - with Accessories, Black (B&H # SAC11WNLSMB) instead of the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & Non-Servo TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters (with Accessories, Black).

[Black] This microphone is excellent. Durable. The sound is very clean and high quality. If black is worn, the black mic is invisible on camera.

[Black] I had to return Rode Wireless Filmmaker Kit due to a mediocre SQ and was going through Sound Bible over and over again in search of an answer... I think I found it! Won't compare this two, but rather simply state that it cannot be better, I'm very satisfied with what this mic has to offer, and I'm willing to deal with cable until I find wireless system producing same results... Top notch craftsmanship and performance. VERY sensitive and requires only 9 o'clock gain on my SD MixPre-D for a strong clean signal. Love it!
