Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the shotgun cutout work with the SSH-6?

A: Yes it will fit and work perfectly.

Q: 2. How do these devices fear for double usage.. : Use it as a Musik player SD cards, as a Walkman, in the car or home HiFi stereo ) ? Does it play all tracks of a folder..? No playlist I presume - and interface just impossible for navigation ?Would need a better playback chip ?Just wonder as I do need an excellent recorder sometimes, I could often listen to good music between these occasions ;-) (I do use my mobile phone and a dedicated mobile player but still I wonder)

A: I don't use mine for playback only for recording. It's an amazing recorder for live music. I download the wave files for further editing

Q: 3. How to connect Nikon D750 and syn the video and Zoom H6 audio?

A: To connect the H6's 3.5mm Line out to the camera's 3.5mm Mic in you will use an attenuator cable, like this one from Whirlwind. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/767986-REG/Whirlwind_WHH4NL3_5_WHH4NL3_5_Line_to_Microphone.html Because there is no time code involved, to sync you will need a software based solution, like Plural Eyes. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1226419-REG/red_giant_sho_pluraleyes4_d_pluraleyes_4_download.html

Q: 4. I would like to cover the 4 xlr ports since I've been using the mics that come with the Zoom H6. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase 4 xlr port covers that will fit the Zoom H6? Thanks.

A: We are not aware of any compatible covers.

Q: 5. Can it charge NiMH AA batteries directly via USB?

A: No. The USB is just for audio transfer.

Q: 6. Do the XLR inputs on the H6 lock the mic cord into place or, like on the H4, are they susceptible to falling out?

A: They don’t lock. It’s fine if you are stationary. I wouldn’t try and run around with this setup in a “mobile” environment.

Q: 7. Any recommendations for affordable lav mics to use with this recorder for podcasting? I have some inexpensive lavs that work OK with my current recorder, but they use button batteries. I tried my more expensive Sennheiser lav and got no signal at all. I would prefer lavs that didn't require batteries.

A: Jason, are you looking for a wired or wireless Lav? I personally always try and use a wired Lav wherever possible ... high fidelity, clear quality audio is critical to most forms of broadcast digital media. If you're happy to go with a wired Lav I'd highly recommend the Shure MX150 Subminiature Lavalier Microphone (Wired XLR) .... you tuck into the collar/chest area of the talent, run the thin Shure cable out of the shirt and then attach a pro studio XLR cable and run it into the Zoom H6 XLR inputs ... really delivers stunning audio quality and works every time without having to worry about RF interference and batteries dying.I have a couple of them and can either record them as separate mono tracks in the H6 or mix them as a stereo pair.I purchased both my H6 and the two Shure MX 150s from B&H and have been totally satisfied with the set-up ... you pay a bit more for a pro Lav but the peace of mind and audio quality is well worth it ... and besides which B&H prices are always very competitive and if you have any issues, B&H service is second to none!Cheers,Neil

Q: 8. I remember hearing that you can use a power brick with the Zoom H6 (plug the power brick into the USB port). Can anyone confirm if this is correct, and if so, are there limitations / recommendations on power brick specs?

A: I've used the Zoom H6 plugged via the USB port without a problem.

Q: 9. Can I run Audio Out from the H6 into the XLR inputs of the Canon C100 Mark 2? From the specs listed for the H6 it looks like it only has a line out. Any way to do this? Thanks,Sandeep.

A: This is a recorder and not a mixer. So it only offers outputs for LINE and HEADPHONE.Use a Shure A15AS - In-Line Pad with 15, 20 or 25 db of Selectable Mic Attenuation - XLR Barrel B&H # SHA15AS to attenuate the LINE signal and connect to the recorder with this adapter: ---------------------------------------------Remote Audio Unbalanced Adapter Cable 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA TS Mini-Jack (18 ) B&H # RECAX3F18M

Q: 10. Can you jam timecode into the Zoom H6?

A: No, the H6 does not support time code.

[Precut Foam] Rigid case and good protection for the Zoom H6 recoder with the mics. Fit well for all the components including the newer shotgun SSH-6. One little improvement is that the spared space for other accessories can be a little bit larger as accessories like cables (even thin cables using 3.5mm jack) and cards are quite space consuming. Perhaps the septums can be make thinner, or a larger case might be another option.

[Latch] I use this product to house my Zoom H6 recorder and accessories. I find the pre-cut sections to be tight, but very protective, which is what I want. So far, no moisture inside the case. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone.
