The Hoya Fog Diffuser 1.0 58mm for Photographyhas a frosted surface that lightly veils the entire picture in a pleasing dreamlike fog effect. The 58mm diffuser can produce an effect similar to dense fog. The effect can be varied by changing the aperture of the lens, but stopping down too far will reduce the effect.

[Glass] Love this set - it does exactly what it says it does. So many people rely on post for this type of effect but its so cool to go old school and get an analog effect during shooting. 5

[58 mm] It worked nicely as expected. Good pictures at normal shutter speeds No need to use long exposure times). Red tint in color. Interesting when shooting B&W. The camera was not modified for IR photography. 5

[0.095 lb] Works great! I did a lot of research on this product prior to ordering. I am shooting infrared images on a Sigma SD-10 digital SLR with the IR cutoff filter removed. I use this to cut the visible light and pass on IR to the sensor. 5

[58 mm] This filter gives a beautiful rounded haze and foggy atmosphere to your photos. I've found it is most effective in brighter conditions as the softening will make sharp images feely a bit blurred At the 77mm size, I'm able to use on multiple lenses and stack with other filters as well to make for some unique stylistic shots. It may not be an everyday application, but it comes through wonderfully for it's desired intention. 5
