This Vanguard VEO3 263CPS Carbon Fiber Tripod with Arca-Type Headfrom Vanguard VEO3 263CPS Carbon Fiber Tripod with Arca-Type Headhas a maximum height of 70.6" and a load capacity of up to 22 pounds, making it an ideal choice for use with both cameras and sport optics. The tripod legs have independent three locking angles for a variety of configurations, and the center column can be removed and replaced with a low-level adapter for getting down to a minimum height of just 9.3" for low-perspective or macro photography. The center column also features a ballast hook for added stability when working with large loads or in unstable conditions. The legs have rubber feet and include interchangeable spike feet for traction in different situations. One leg can be removed and converted into a 73.1" tall tripod in three easy steps. The leg apex features two 3/8"-16 threaded accessory mounts that make it possible to expand a setup by adding a monitor, microphone, LED light, or more.

The included VEO PH-38S pan head offers precise movement on three individual axes for controlled camera positioning. The PH-38S has two pan handles that have adjustable length for fine control, suitable for use with a wide range of still and video camera rigs. The handles make it easy to position a camera through the head's -60 to +90° tilt range and -30 to +90° lateral tilt range. In addition, the base has 360° of rotation, and features a numbered scale and independent pan lock knob. In addition to the panoramic base, the camera platform rotates independently in 90° increments and has a quick-locking lever to keep it in place. The integrated Arca-type quick release set includes a QS-74 quick shoe and has a safety pin that offers a double security feature to help prevent the camera or other equipment from accidentally being released while it is being adjusted.

[Yes] I did my research about its specs (size, weight, max load etc) and I'm very happy with my purchase. If I need to save more space when travelling the head is not difficult to remove, which is a big plus. Last, I hope I won't need it, but having 6 years of warranty adds to my peace of mind. 5

[Carbon Fiber] Its a super convenient solid tripod. It's the perfect weight which makes it easily portable.It comes with a nice quality bag to carry it in and travel with. It reaches a very decent height, I am 5'11 and it goes well above my head. The quality is sturdy and its very easy to deploy all legs at full length. 5

[6.375 lb] Extremely compact and lightweight, easily goes with me wherever - as the saying goes the best tool for the job is the one you have with you and I am far more likely to carry this baby over my 8 pound regular tripod. So far I've had no stability issues, and the head seems to hold my kit (6D + ts-e24, 35mm, 24-105) steady where I put it for as long as I need (30+ second exposures), although I haven't encountered strong winds yet. In my home the 100-400 seems stable as well, but since I haven't shot with it in the field yet I don't want to make a definitive comment. The only nit is the lack of bubble level on the legs, but I can't really fault it for that. I was worried about the twist locks, but they work just fine. 5
