The Tiffen 4x4" Pearlescent Filtercan be applied to purposely soften contrast and reduce sharpness. This can be useful for high-resolution digital cinematography in order to create a more flattering result of a subject by reducing the appearance of blemishes and softening highlights. Additionally, a pearlescent halo around highlights is created which can further enhance a subject's appearance or produce a desired effect.

This filter has a grade of 1. Grades of 1/4, 1/8, 1/2, and 2 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

A: Circular Polarizer are designed for autofocus cameras. Most lenses cannot autofocus with a linear polarizer. If you want to use an autofocus lens you should choose a circular polarizer.

A: Your camera body is not full frame and has a 1.5x magnification factor. As a result your 11-16mm lens when used on this body is essentially a 16.5mm -24mm lens. There should be no vignetting given these focal lengths when using a standard CP filter. [6 x 5.5 x 1.1"] I was surprised when I opened the box to find such a robust kit. Overall this is a fantastic value! The only weak spot is the actual matte box, which is thin, bendy plastic. Probably not a big deal because that part isn't usually subjected to abuse. The filter holder and swing away bracket are both high quality and seemingly durable.The kit, overall, is quite heavy, which I like. 5

[6 x 5.5 x 1.1"] Bought to use on my Wescott 4x4 snap-together frame. Fits perfectly -- and stays in place with my sewing velcro to the inside edge of the grid (now hold tight to the frame). The grid is well made and with the usual TLC befitting such a tool I expect it to last a good long while. 5

[6 x 5.5 x 1.1"] Great mattebox. It is a bit limited since it isn't compatible with side flags (ears) but most of the time all I need is the eyebrow anyways. Other than that this guys is awesome. Some might shy away because it only holds 4x4 filters, but you really don't need anything bigger than that unless you rock anamorphics. And if you can afford anamorphics then you can afford to rent out top level matteboxes. I love this mattebox, no complaints! Honestly I've become a big fan of Tilta over the years. For a Chinese company, they don't live up to the cheap Chinese stigma. Their products are at a very competitive price and they've always been well made and good investments. 5

[6 x 5.5 x 1.1"] I bought the Redrock Micro Matte box when it was in the Deal Zone and was really excited. It came, I set it up and it had some glaring issues. For one, it was clunky and too big. But most of all, the design didn't allow me to have great positioning of the center of the box with the lens/camera. So i returned that and bought this. It was cheaper (than the regular price) but I saw that in the design, it seemed like it had greater flexibility in regards to the positioning of everything. I assumed correctly. It's awesome. Every piece of it I actually love. Much smaller and lighter but still has a huge opening for big cine lenses. Plus, it uses 4x4 filters rather than the bigger filters the RR used. I love it. One of my favorite buys in recent history. 5

[6 x 5.5 x 1.1"] It fits the Chimera 4x4 frame well - with some extra room left, which makes it very easy to use - you just need some clamps and you're good to go. Super easy to fold back to its compact position - I was worried it would be much harder. Good quality for the price too! 5
